Another interesting thing in this year Golden Globe award is on the best original score for 'The Painted Veil'.

A few days earlier, on Friday January 12, 2007, a program at RCTI called ‘Bincang Bintang’ hosted by Tika Panggabean was filled with the discussion about a controversy related to the movie ‘Ekskul’. The controversy appeared after ‘Ekskul’ obtained an award for best movie in Indonesian film festival ‘Citra’, while according to some young cineastes it contains music score taken from foreign movies like from a Korean movie and from a Hollywood movie, without permission. So the young cineaste protest it, asking for the cancel of the award, while also returning their own Citra awards obtain since earlier years to demand for better handling of the movie industry in Indonesia.

Among the participant in the discussion was Ria Irawan, an Indonesian actress. While watching it, a thought came to my mind that she looks a little bit like Drew Barrymore.

At the 64th Golden Globe award a few days later, Composer Alexandre Desplat won the award for best original score for his work on 'The Painted Veil'. And to my surprise, the actress who presented the award for best music score was Drew Barrymore. It made me feel like my thought was being read and then materialized in the real world.

Actually this letter was written on Friday afternoon, but I postponed the upload to my homepage. At night when I watched the program again, it appeared that my postponing it has given more meaning, because that night it was the second birthday of the program. Happy birthday to Tika Panggabean and all the staffs of Bincang Bintang at RCTI.
