Subject:  Questioning House Number: J - 54 Or H - 54

Sunday afternoon January 2007, after posting my previous letter of “Parade of Reminders Around the End of 2006”, as usual I went home through the Jawa Street, riding bicycle. Only a few hundred meters I went through that road, from the distance my eyes spot a car parked on the side of the street, with its hazard lamps blinking like intentionally trying to attract me. It was a Korean car, Hyundai Accent silver metallic, B 8065 DD.

Immediatley I tried to find out what number was the house where that car was parked in front of, because it could be related with my letter about car collision in front of house number 54 that I wrote that day. Apparently, it was parked in front of the house number J – 54, as if trying to investigate the truth of my story.

Unfortunately, it was not the house that I meant, because what I meant was the house number H – 54, not number J – 54.

The houses on the neighborhood there are using numbers based on blocks, like block A, block B, block C,..... block H, block I, block J. So beside numbers, there is the letter of the block in front of it, like block A - 25, block E - 68 and so on. Therefore it is possible that in the same street, there could be more than one house wih the same number, because the difference is in the leter in front of the number.

There could be a question why in my previous letter I did not write the letter of the block, instead only writing it as "the house number 54". To be honest, it was after that car parked in front of the house number J – 54 that I realized there were two houses with number 54 on that same street.

Subject:  Reminder About My Painting to Finance the Journey to Middle East

Beside investigating about my previous story of car collision in front of the house number 54, that Hyundai Accent car could also have another reminder, related to my paintings. Because its license plate ended with “DD” is like reminding me about my old friend in the junior high school, "Dede", who is now a famous painting artist.

Since it was a Korean car, it was like remindiing me with my offer to someone a few weeks ago regarding my painting "Wayang Banowati" that seem to be related with former Korean foreign minister Ban Ki Moon who has been appointed as the new secretary general of United Nations replacing Koffie Anan.

It could be to remind me that I should concentrate on selling my paintings to finance my journey to visit some sacred places in the Middle East, as a part of my "Closing the Windows of Disasters". Although the journey could also resulting with my having to meet the end of my life, I think I have no other choice, for the good of this world.

On that same day of Sunday 7 January 2007, in the afternoon when I was already at home, as usual I watched the Jay Leno Tonight show at CNBC. Jay Leno’s show televises in Jakarta every Saturday and Sunday at 15.00 and 21.00. On that Sunday afternoon the episode contained Jay Leno’s interview with Hilary Swank.

She positioned herself on the couch so that almost all of her legs was shown during the interview. Combined with her recent stared as Erin Gruwell in the movie "Freedom Writer", it made me feel like she was searching for the truth about the story of my relationship with my former neighbor Irin who liked to wear short pant.

Considering that Hilary Swank is a two time Oscar winner, I think this is a serious matter. And like I have often mentioned before, I never have any romance with Irin, whether with or without her willingness. The problem is, I was and still am some kind of a nerd, with no experience in having romance, so I did nothing with her that could be considered as romance, like with any other girls too.

On the other hand I could also understand if there are those who keep searching for the truth about this, because Irin is from a religious but moderate Islamic family. There could be some strong curiosity about how a girl from such religious but moderate Islamic family spend times in having romance.

The answer is I have no much knowlege about that, because I never have any romance with any of the girls of Irin's family, since I was and stil am just some kind of a nerd.

A few weeks after my friend Herry Latief came to Indonesia from the Netherland, and spent some days with me to work his book project, a landslide happened at West Sumatra, the area of his origin. For me it became like another reminder that I should concentrate to my consent to move to the eternity. And I consider it as important reminder since the vice president during the Indonesian independence day in 1945 also came from West Sumatra.

I hope to be able to sell some of my paintings soon to finance my journey to some sacred places in the Middle East, as a part of clearing my way to move to the eternity.
