Florida's only living WWI vet honored
By MITCH STACY,

Fri Nov 10, 10:10 PM ET
BRADENTON, Fla. -
Florida's only living World War I veteran got a
long-delayed medal Friday as he smiled at the
hubbub and recalled his service on a battleship
nearly 90 years ago. Ernest Charles Pusey, 111,
wasn't feeling too talkative but seemed to enjoy
the attention as Gov.
Jeb Bush awarded him a World War
I Victory Medal at a gathering in the retired
General Motors worker's trailer on the day
before Veterans Day.
"It looks pretty
good, doesn't it?" Bush said, placing the
glass-encased medal on the table next to Pusey's
recliner.
Pusey was in the
U.S. Navy
from 1917 to 1919 aboard the battleship USS
Wyoming, which spent much of the war patrolling
the sea lanes around the British Isles.

After I wrote my previous letter of "Manchester
United 20, 40 and 30" that
contains the sentence of pussy cat ".........
the 2-0 was like related with "Death
of the Second Cat", whereas the score of 2 is
like commensurate with the "second" cat that died on early
October 2006...............", then came the news on TV
about Ernest Charles Pusey obtaining World War I Victory
Medal from Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
Ernest Charles Pusey is 111 years
old, the Florida last survivor of World War I, served in the
U.S. Navy
from 1917 to 1919 aboard the battleship USS
Wyoming which spent much of the war patrolling
the sea lanes around the British Isles.
It becomes a pleasant coincidence for me
that he obtained the Medal after I wrote about the pussy cat in my
letter of "Manchester
United 20, 40 and 30".
Congratulation to Mr. Ernest Charles Pusey

This one has nothing to do with my
previous letters, except that the location of New National Museum of
the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia is a little bit like my name
Firman. But of course it must have nothing to do with me.
The date of U.S. Marine formation is
November 10, 1775.
November 10 is also a famous day in
Indonesia for it is the Indonesian Heroes Day, commemorates each
year.
