At the end of September 2006 a few days ago, Indonesian vice president Jusuf Kalla visited the U.S. to meet with some senior officers there.

I think it is important for the country to make such visit to most advance country like the U.S. to open any possible cooperation to increase the economy in Indonesia. According to the news, president Bush also would visit Indonesia a few weeks from now on November 2006.

Regarding my self, such visits are also important to clarify that I have no intention to use my international connection to move up in politics, because most of all I still have no idea what could I give to my country by becoming a politician.

Subject: Going Twice to the Cemetery, September and October 2006

License permit for my mother's grave is valid until this year. It should be prolonged every three years.

At first I was planning to go to the cemetery to prolong my mother's grave license permit on Monday September 25, 2006. Yet on that day a new washing machine, still inside the corrugated box, was sent to the house and placed in the garage. So I thought it would be better to wait until it is installed to replace the old one. Because if I went while it was still in the garage, and it happened to be stolen, I could be accused of causing it to happen.

Yet until Thursday it still laid in the garage with no sign of placing it to replace the old one. While I became worry that if the prolong of my mother's grave license permit happened to be forgotten, somebody else could be buried in my mother's grave. So on Friday September 29, 2006 I went to go to the grave yard, rather far away, around fifty kilometers from the house where I live.

The cost to prolong the grave license permit was 80.000 rupiahs, and I gave an extra 20.000 for the tip to the administrator there.

Approaching the dusk, when I have been in the house again and looked at the calendar, I just realized that it was the sixth day of the fasting month of Ramadhan. Like I mentioned in my previous letter, the word for six in Indonesian is "enam" hat sounds like "end A.M."

So my going to the grave yard on September 29, on the sixth day of the fasting month, was commensurate with my consent to meet the end of my life.

The new license permit was supposed to be ready on the next day, but I decided to get there later, on October 4, 2006. Because my name is Firman whereas in Dutch and German language, "fir" has the meaning of "four". So by going to the grave yard on October 4, it could be to strengthen my consent to move to the grave yard as a corpse.

Yet later on in the afternoon of October 4 after I went to the grave for the second time, I realized that there could be some misunderstanding as if my tip of 20.000 rupiahs could be assumed as my wish for the number two person in this country, or the vice president, to become zero or die.

Therefore I wrote this letter to clarify that my tip of 20.000 rupiahs was commensurate with my going there twice, and since I was the one who went to the grave yard twice so it could be symbolizing my consent to become zero or die soon, and not anyone else.
