Recently an idea came in my mind to develop a new homepage with the title “Closing the Window of Disaster”. It was based on my previous experiences of feeling guilty because I have become like a trigger to certain huge disasters, like I wrote in my letter to Paris Hilton with the title "The Worry of Becoming Bait that Triggers Disaster". Whereas I feel that I may have been selected, randomly, to become bait that trigger disaster, and this is one of the strong reasons why I prefer to move to the eternity soon. In 1982 when my girl friend Nita switched to someone else, it was followed by a disaster of the drop of oil price that dropped so low under US $ 6, first time in history. At that moment Indonesia relied so much on oil revenue, so the sharp drop of oil price really made the people suffered. In 1989, when I had an appointment to have lunch with Rina to enable me talk about her words of asking me to propose her, all of a sudden she cancelled the appointment in the last minutes. A few hours later it was followed by a disaster at Mina, Saudi Arabia, during the hajj pilgrimage, where 1200 people died, among which around 600 from Indonesia. In 2001, I tried to approach Rahma, yet she married someone else in June 2001. A few months later the September 11 WTC tragedy happened. Then Rahma fled to UK following her husband who studied there. In 2004, she returned and appeared on TV again. I sent her a painting on her birthday of April 2004. Then on December 2004, there was the tragedy of Tsunami with hundred of thousands victims. The Tsunami was triggered by an earthquake in Aceh, while Rahma’s boss is also form Aceh. In 2005, when I began to write letters and to make paintings of Paris Hilton, I thought it would never relate to any disaster again. Because I thought maybe those previous disasters were related with my improper condition, because I am just nobody who has nothing, while those girls were from distinguished family. Nita was a daughter of a famous religious person who also a member of parliament. Rina was a niece of a famous general. Rahma was having a blood of the prophets. So maybe I was considered incompatible for them. While for Paris Hilton, I thought I would only become a painting artist to paint her, or even if she happened to want to marry me, then we both have the same art background, since she is from Hollywood art environment. Yet the disaster still happened again, this times the Katrina that caused New Orleans to drown severely under the water.
By developing this homepage of “Closing the Window of Disaster”, it would hopefully become like a wish that I would never become a trigger to certain huge disasters anymore.
On June 16, 2006, in the dawn when I was praying, this idea became stronger in my mind. Yet I thought, the word "Window" has become some kind of trademark of Microsoft, what would be the reaction of Mr. Bill Gates if I used the word window in my new homepage. A few hours later in the afternoon when I watched CNN, there was the news ticker about your announcing your plan of transition from day-to-day responsibilities at the company you co-founded, to concentrate on the charitable work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. It appeared to be important news that it was filled in two different news tickers, the "news" and the "business". As you might also now, CNN have four different news ticker, “news”, “business”, “sport”, “market”. Accordingly, the news besides that news ticker also appeared, about your plan to resign form your Chairman position in Microsoft. Among which, there was the video when you were interviewed on a stage with some HDTV monitor at the background, with some pictures of certain events, including the word “Allah” in yellow Arabic letter on green fabric, and the view of Ka'aba with plenty of people walking around. So I think it has become the answer about my question during praying in the dawn, and I should begin this “Closing the Window of Disaster”.
Besides, it also solves my problems of
writing letters previously to President George Bush and Paris Hilton. My
writing to President Bush has the risk of getting political suspicions
that I would only become the leader of a puppet country of the United
States. While my writing to Paris Hilton evokes some accusations that it was
only to funnel my “dirty mind” through Paris Hilton. So I hope my
writing to you would be more appropriate, to spend the rest of my life
with more educating matters.
