Origins of Clos Du Bub
Clos Du Bub (Literally "walled vineyard of the Bub") has
been linked to the renowned ancestrial family of BOBARD
traced through the REISINGS of the Alsace are of Germany
to the COUNT DU BOBARD in the Burgundy area of France.
In the early 16th century, the COUNT DU BOBORD had
extensive landholdings in the now prestegious wine
making region of the Cote D'Or. It is believed that the
COUNT had vast vineyards and produced some of the
finer wines of the area. The name BOBARD was, through
the years, shortened to "BEUB" and eventually Anglicized
to "BUB" as we know it today. In fairness, it must be noted
that "BUB is also the name of the Reising's family dog.
It must also be noted that BOBARD is a colloquial French
word for a "lie or tall story"
