Now, over 200 cities worldwide produce a First Night celebration. . First Night Santa Cruz Welcome to First Night Santa Cruz 2002, Santa Cruz County's New Year's Eve celebration of the arts. For the eighth year in a row, downtown Santa Cruz will be transformed into a stage. Festivities begin at 3pm and end at midnight at the town clock.
