Backround

Due to his parents’ careers, Ethan did not grow up with his biological parents. He grew up with his aunt and uncle, his father’s sister and her husband, as did his siblings. In actuality, his aunt and uncle were more parents to him and his siblings than his parents. His entire childhood and teenage years he lived in upstate New York, USA, Earth. His aunt was a Professor of Terra History at nearby Union College, and his uncle was the head of the natural science department at RPI.

Because of his aunt’s and uncle’s positions, Ethan was able to learn considerable amounts about physics and Earth history. His aunt and uncle helped him, and guided him, but most of it, at least the history, he taught to himself. Furthermore, also on guidance from his aunt and uncle, he learned to play guitars, bass, acoustic and electric, in many different styles. Upon graduation from high school, Ethan decided to join Star Fleet Academy, despite serious protests from his aunt and uncle.

While in Starfleet he shifted more towards a tactical role, despite having high marks in sciences in high school. He is more than highly qualified for use of the tactical, operations and piloting systems of nearly every Starfleet vessel designed and constructed in the past one hundred years. In addition, he has shown an amazing ability to find patterns in what others seem to be chaos, and a grasp of languages uncommon amongst humans, which has made him consider applying to Starfleet Intelligence to become a cryptologist.

Personality

Blair works best under pressure, his mind flows more freely and ideas are simply better. This has forced him to be what others perceive as a procrastinator. However, this has not prevented him from achieving. After living for so long in a house with a history a professor in it, and his love of music, he has been heavily influenced by the music and ideas of the twentieth century, despite what little relevance they have in every day life. It is most obvious in the way he dresses and acts while he is off duty. He is comfortable in most every situation, despite however awkward it may seem to others.
