Featured Recipe - Fried Lumpia (Filipino Eggrolls)

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 clove of garlic, cut fine
  • 1/8 cup of water
  • 1 stalk of carrot, sliced
  • 1 stalk of celery, sliced
  • 1/2 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • 1 box of lumpia wrappers, 25 pcs.
  • Salt & Pepper to taste
  • Fry ground beef under medium heat until brown. Remove excess fat. Sautee garlic and onion in separate pan until golden brown. Add ground beef. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add water; cover and simmer for 2 minutes. Add carrots, celery, and water chestnuts. Cook until water evaporates.

    Before wrapping in lumpia wrappers, cool mixture. Spoon 2 tsp. of mixture into a wrapper and roll tightly. Brush end of wrapper with water to seal. Deep fry in oil til golden brown.
