Survival of the 'Fittest' Theory

At the time of Darwin there was already a popular theory of evolution championed by Jean Lamarck which was so similar to Darwinism that most ordinary people wouldn't bat an eyelid if Biologists started espousing it now.I mean if they did, they would still be able to use 'Survival of the Fittest' as their fundamental catchphrase and most ordinary people would still believe that they were hearing a Darwinist philosophy. But biologists won't be doing this, because Lamarckism has become a Damned subject and is off limits to them
Lamarckism is not anti-evolution,it is not creationist propaganda in through the backdoor,it still belongs to the school of 'hard knocks' that is basically the history of life on this planet. All it proposes is that living creatures are actively involved in their own evolution. But it is on this exactly this point that Lamarckism lost the 'evolutionary battle' to Darwinism, which triumphantly won with the credo that the powerhouse of evolution is the random mutation of genes combined with natural selection. The fact that Lamarck lost because of a disagreement on the engine of evulution does not seem to justify the utter disdain Lamarck was treated then and still is now and it seems obvious that the ideological component of Science was behind the ferocity of the attack..
This fundamental ideology of Science is expressed in this simple sentence. The universe is pointless run by 'blind' forces and that life on this planet was just a freak accident. Now why Science should hold this particular view is a moot point amd is something I will deal with in another essay. But the need for constant validation of this ideology,in all the disciplines explains why Darwinism with it's blind pointless engine at the heart of evolution won and why Lamarck was so violently discredited and to all intents and purposes eradicated from mainsteram history.
The ironic point to all this,is that in that using the strict empirical methods as touted by science, there is strong evidence that Lamarck works and none for Darwinism! (Which remains untestable because it requires immense periods of time to observe it happening.)The only support that Darwinism has, comes from Genetics, the much hyped, but socially disreputable star of contemporary science. However, unfortunately this still does not constitute absolute proof that evolution happened in the way they descibed.
As I mentioned there is a lot evidence for Lamarck's version of evolution, but there is one piece of evidence conducted by geneticists themselves which seems to utterly confirm Lamarck's view but which also put the 'paranormal' at the heart of evolution and thus demonstrating why it's so dangerous to the scientific establishment.Geneticists have bred a species of fruit fly that has no genes for the eye,so it is a 'breed' of eyeless fly with no hope of regaining it in sucessive generations. But kept completely isolated from other normal fruit flies, this eyeless breed can reproduce the eye! This experiment perfectly demonstrates the basic evolutionary principle behind Lamarck, which is;If a species needs for survival purposes some bodily or behavioural changes somehow it modifies the species's genes in order to get those required changes.* I cannot understate how impossible and hence 'paranormal' this ststement is to Official Biology.
Let me give you an analogy to make the point clear.Imagine the Windows software was taken out of every computer in the world and all the hard disks were completely reformatted so there was absolutely no trace of the programme left in the world. But then gradually here and there Windows started appearing fully working in people's computers. It would seem like computers needed Windows for some fundamental reason....... Look,I know this analogy is extremely hard to accept, because Windows is such a crap system!! But that is what exactly appears to be happening with the eyeless fly.
This evidence and others like it,aim a poison arrow not only at the heart of Darwinism but also at the ideology of Science and that is the main reason why it is a seriously Damned subject. And again it's the para-world where the implications of this information are fully explored and which I will return to it in later essays.

*-The Lamarckian principle is usually summed up as 'The inheritance of acquired characteristics' which doesn't seem to fully explain this particular piece of information. But another quote of Lamarck seems to encompass this fruit fly phenomena.more completely.- 'Alteration in the environment of animals leads to alteration of their needs, which in turn produces modification in their structure and organisation'
Also, although Lamarck was unaware of genetics at the time, think the aforementioned quote covers this new information effectively.
