| Paul & I regularly visit my oldest & best friend Ian and his familyat his home in Penzance, Cornwall, UK. |
| Ian & I have known each other for almost 30 years. His family lived opposite my school and his Grandparents lived opposite my home. He and I had a strange affinity and even stranger childhood. We never got on as teenagers & screamed and fought with each other regularly for nearly 2 years until my personal acceptance of my own sexuallity. Ian new he was gay at 14, I think deep down I new about myself too, but I didn't understand & fully accept it until I was nearly 18. Yvonne & Hedley, his parents, were very supportive and let me live with them for a while until I came to terms with my new life style and eventually let my own parents be a part of it. I spent over 4 years analysing my gay life & regularly fought, argued & upset my own family, including my sisters, about it. I had the love & support of my "surrogate family" then and still do today 30 years on. To my other family, Yvonne, Ian, Erica, Dawn & Glyn, "Thank You, I Love You". |
