This picture was taken some time in 1902.

The barn is on the farm owned by Cecil E. Rhoads' Great Grand Parents. It was built about 1879. It is still standing today. The farm is 7 miles South West of Waverly Kansas, in Coffee County.

Cecil E. Rhoads' Great Grandfather, Marcus Cicero Meairs is setting in the hay mover door, in the barn. Marcus was born in Preble County Ohio in 1852. His wife Alice May (Whedon) Meairs was born in Indiana in 1858. She is standing by the surrey in the foreground.

His Great Uncle Wes is standing behind her holding the saddle. Standing in the barn door, behind the horse is his Great Uncle Roy.

To the far right, the couple in the buggy is his Great Uncle Willie and Great Aunt Edith.

In the surrey with the white horses is his Grand Parents: Lenora May (Meairs) Rhoads and Solomon H. Rhoads. Sitting beside his Grand Father is his Father, Glenn W. Rhoads. The baby being held by his Grand Mother Lenora, is his Father's brother, his Uncle Ivan Rhoads.
