UPDATED 09/08/05
UPDATE 10/18/05: Commenting on the upcoming World Series. This one should be a great one. Not the same old teams. The Chicago White Sox will be in it for the first time in 46 years to seek their first championship in 88 years (1917). The NL team, Houston is in it for the first time ever? Stay tuned. Cardinals are not giving up just yet in game 5 in the 9th inning. Should be entertaining no matter who wins. No more times when the Yankees play The Braves. Remember that? Every darn year they seen each other.
In other news, job is well so far except slow. UPDATE 9/8/05: Updated on 9/8 because people take my text too seriously. Nothing going on in my life right now but that will change. I am moving to eastern Ohio for a radio sales job. Good to leave, my time here is up. Why do I have friends but I have to initiate the "hang outs", etc? Noone calls me. I have to call them. No. That's why ties with friends of the past have just been forgotten or just have decreased. Oh well. One older friend from the spring called me (for the first time in a while) but I was on vacation on the busy I-25 in Colorado and probably couldn't handle what was going to be a 20+ minute conversation. Another older 40+ friend who considered me a lost son a while back cut ties with me it seems. I am 3 miles away but it's a relationship where as she is in Latvia and I am in rural Idaho. Not even up for a quick visit? OK. Younger friends wise, I have a one who wants me to be a success and I have one who criticizes my inferior products (computer, etc. It may be a joke and all in good fun but not when I have a move/change in life within 20 days. I have another friend who tolerates the way I am. I definitely am waving a farewell to Columbus. Going to be a tough job but I want to experience the far east before I move west 1 1/2 to 3 years from now. Oh forgot to mention, I know some people in the area in the area I am moving to that I used to hang out with and talk to on the phone but they seemed to cut ties with me unless I initiate a phone call with them. What is with me? PEACE! "Not at war with anyone. How can you have a war that has no people."
NEWS 7/30/05: Still looking for a radio job but might zone in on one in eastern Ohio near Wheeling, WV. Going for a interview, just need to find a time. It's cheap to live there but a move is still a move. High speed internet is a must when I live on my own. Speaking of radio, my old station I used to work at got sold and changed formats. I would've had only about 4 months left if I didn't get cut April 4. A good friend who was making great time and a living there got cut. So sad because he has potential. Hopefully a Columbus station gets him because he needs to be heard. I met some 2nd and 3rd cousins in May and got close to them but figured out I won't be seeing them that much anymore. They are too busy. It is a family, two parents, two kids (girl 13, boy 12). I get close to people and find out they're too busy. Happened 4 years ago with someone else. I have bad luck. That news knocked me off the mountain-top.
WHERE THE HELL HAVE I BEEN? (consider ND visited too on 7/6/05, too lazy to update it)
OLDER ENTRIES
7/4/05: Been awhile since I updated this funky place. My awful depression ended mid-May. Good freakin riddance. Probably was complications from a side medicine (which did not get along with alcohol). Finally on vacation, my precious once-a-year two week vacation. Drove and covered more states and went down as far as El Paso before going north on Interstate 25 and ultimately reaching the destination of southwest Montana. Heading home in a lot more direct North Dakota way. According to pops, ND will be state #46 for me (see map above). Going to find a radio job when I head home because the laborer job on some days is strenuous and on other days extremely boring. I love my family too, just found some cousins. All four of them are awesome but they are busy and I'm not high on the totem pole of importance to them. I plan to find all my cousins (mostly one's under or around my own age.) Age 13 to 16 the best, I can watch them grow.
4/26/05: Well the guy who replaced me at the old radio station sucks. I kinda had the feeling he would. He's got a little more 60's music knowledge than me (duh, the prick most likely lived in the 60s) but HE'S A NEWSREADER not a on-air DJ. He has a monotone robotic voice and he sounds like he is reading from paper on the air. I reviewed his show when I was at the station for the final time on April 16 to pickup/dropoff shit. BAD replacement. He's also replaced THE PAC MAN for weekday evenings too. Lame. Pac-Man is twenty and he's already miles above this new guy. Anyway, I am ok. I have bouts of depression at times but they never last more than minutes or hours at a time.
4/12/05: I lost my job at 1270 WUCO AM in Marysville, Ohio. I was used by management, obviously. I had 4 weeks of NON-PAID training and I finally started December 23ish. Well JUST OVER 3 MONTHS LATER on April 4, I am cut because of a Matt Allen wants to bring an old friend in. Lame. So I get cut because I failed to come in last week to hang out with them for free. Total use. The pro's of this - Forty-seven miles of less driving per week. Job barely paid and barely got hours anyway. Management is nuts. Now for the con's of this - this is the career (it doesn't end though, it just goes on hiatus), I will miss seeing my good friend Chris S. (yes, THE Pac Man) on routine like old times. For Chris' sake, I hope the station does well but I hope the replacement of me bombs. I'm hardly bitter though. It's a teeny bit stressful managing two jobs when one is far away.
7/2004: I graduated Ohio Center for Broadcasting on June 16. Might not be my career for my whole life but for a good portion. Moved back to Columbus back on July 10th. Can't afford the bills and the wacky lifestyle I was having down there.
Not much is up with me except I'm single but I been single so that's not new. Bottom line, I can't drink at bars.....yet. 20 is the shittiest age.
GENERAL: I like radio of most cylinders. I don't really listen to terrestrial radio though unless I'm without my XM MyFi, which is rare. Speaking of that, I also got XM satellite radio which is the future of radio thanks to Opie and Anthony and a huge variety of stations with big playlists. I also have a PC FM transmitter just to show off shit once a while. So, it seems I am doing all cylinders of radio or was until my un-fairful cut at WUCO. I also work part time as a construction laborer for extra cash and benefits but that will end.
The Suck list
This is what sucks. It will grow as I keep adding stuff.
The future - It might not suck (it might be great) but talking about it sucks. Life insurance, "doomsday" (probably all bullshit. how is Yellowstone a potential hotspot when it's the coldest fucking place in the US? ), money, changes. STOP fucking TALKING ABOUT IT! Live in the present and keep God in your life.
Winter - I blame you for seasonal depression for every year (save for 2004) since 1999
Viacom and Infinity radio - they suck more than Clear Channel for their patheticly long commercial breaks and they are a big company that needs to be uhhhh shrunk.
Smash Mouth - Can I say SUCK loud enough. 30-something year old guys trying to win 13 year old boys/girls hearts. Haha. The covers are pathetic. Leave the Monkees alone.
Tim Murphy - The sad joke replacement for me at WUCO radio. Looking for a monotonic robotic voice, you found it On "Your Station 1270 AM,". Jokes on him, he was fired when the station got sold 4 months later.
Elitists/Ego's - get off your high horse and shut the **** up, you're no better than anyone else
Flip floppers - Kerry was bad but there is a few more.
Justice system - Michael Jackson walks free but I get threatened 30 days of jail for trespassing railroad property to watch trains. Michael Jackson is your poster boy
authority (Lewis Black is right) - cops seem to nag the innocent
Linkin Park and Elephant Man - two atrocious "artists"
The Overrated list
Now for the overrated list. Right now it's music related but I'll add other stuff later.
Rolling Stones - The Beatles were always better. RS's hits are great but dig deeper, they are average. Their two "cream of the crop" albums, Beggars Banquet and Let It Bleed, are boring.
Peter Gabriel - Not overrated when we're talking about him by himself but I'm sick of people saying that Phil Collins is trash and wrecked Genesis while Gabriel is god. No. Phil Collins is great and his voice is better. I have backup on that too. I heard all his work while the elitist assholes that trash him heard the "soccer mom hits".
Jimi Hendrix - He's good but his blown out because he died young. Sad but true. Still, he's got some great stuff with the Experience.
Queen - Freddie Mercury for the same reasons as Hendrix. Bad vocalist too.
Nirvana - see Hendrix and Mercury for Kurt Cobain. Alice in Chains was always better but you never hear about Layne Staley (RIP), do you? Did you know he passed a few years ago?
Howard Stern - Past his prime. Bring Jackie back or you are finished. Sucking Kerry off last year wasn't smart either. You turned alot of people away including me. Kerry was one of the worst candidates we have ever seen and you supported him. Ha. No suprise now that you're both losers.
LASTLY: PRAISE ROLLING ROCK, HEINEKIN, YUENGLING AND PREMIUM MALT BEVERAGES!
