Fade up.
The scene opens to Simple Simon Terry in a hotel room in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Currenty, Little Rock is still his temporary home. Just a little over a month and his contract with NEW is finished. The big question is will that effect his efforts in WPW. SST's worked two federations before, but not on this caliber. Being in two pay per views in less than a month, both with his titles on the line, have seemed to stretch him a little thin on time. Flying from Little Rock to Texas, from Texas to Seattle, from Seattle to Biloxi. It seems that he can't catch up. But without a doubt, Simon will work both pay per views, and win or lose, he will give the fans of each federation the show that they deserve.
I appears that Simon is just stepping out of the shower as he pulls on a white t-shirt, and throws an "Agua Teen Hunger Force" trucker hat on. He walks over and sits down on the bed beside his girlfriend.
Courtney: I can't believe you actually bought that?
Simon: What the hat?
Courtney: That show is so stupid. I don't get your fascination with cartoons.
Simon: ATHF is more than a cartoon, it's art. With the way I've been working lately, Adult Swim is about all I get to catch on the tube lately anyway.
Courtney: You should really try reading while your doing all these long flights and hotel stays. At least you'd be expanding your mind.
Simon: I read.
Courtney: Really, what was the last book you read?
Simon: I just finished Servant of the Shard.
Courtney: Who wrote it?
Simon: R A Salvatore.
Courtney: The fantasy fiction guy?
Simon: He's great. Besides it's not like it's Harry Potter or anything.
Courtney: Let's hope not.
Simon: Babe, there's something I need to tell you.
Courtney: What's that?
Simon: This will probably be the last time I get to see you for a couple of weeks. I've got promo stuff to do here in Little Rock until next Thursday, and then I'll be in Biloxi, Mississippi off and on for the next week.
Courtney: You don't have any shows booked in Biloxi.
Simon: No, but there's a studio that my brother hooked me up with to do some commercials and promotional stuff. Then there's two autograph signings that I'm going to do while I'm there to help promote WPW's Wrestival.
Simon walks over to the bathroom and sprays on some cologne.
Simon: I hate it that I'm not going to get to see you for a while. I'm planning on making tonight special for you. I've really got to push myself this next week. It seems like since Shawn let his contract in NEW expire, everyone there feels free to talk shit about him. I hate it that those guys felt like they couldn't hack it when he was there, but as soon as he's on a plane out of Little Rock, there talking crap about what might have been. It just pisses me off and I don't think I'm going to just stand by and let them talk crap.
Courtney: Don't bother. Shawn always knows how to take care of that kind of stuff.
Simon: It's not like Shawn wouldn't cut a promo and rip all those guys to shred, but he's not there to defend himself. The fans know the truth about what would happen if any of them stepped into the ring with him, but it still chafes my ass a little.
Courtney: Let Rhemses deal with them then.
Simon: Rhemses has his own stuff to deal with right now. He barely has time to show up for the matches that they book us for.
Courtney: I know, I told them to be careful.
Simon: Well, that's the price you pay to play. I don't think Rhemses will have a problem being a good dad. He's letting his contract run out with NEW in June too. He even mentioned getting a job in advertising and booking for NEW in Little Rock. He may even have his own little office at the TCBY building.
Courtney: I can't picture him in a suit.
Simon: Well, most of his crazy stunts were for show, just to keep the fans interested.
Courtney: I know how much you want to defend Shawn in NEW, but I think he'll respect you more if you just focus more on WPW. Besides with the way that main event you guys are doing is going to be set up, things could get really crazy.
Simon: Anybody could gain anything in that match. The one everyone has to watch out for is Alex. She goes in there with nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Then we've got Striken and PDJ to worry about, they've already made it a major point that they are after our tag titles.
Courtney: But Striken has already made it a point that he's looking for the World title too. Everyone else in that match too.
Simon: Everyone but Shawn. I know he's talking with David about contract renegotiations and stuff, but I don't know what all has happened with that just yet. I don't think Shawn will let anything hold him back too much.
Courtney: I'm going to get a shower and then we'll go downstairs and take advantage of the continental breakfast. I could use a bagel or something.
Simon: Sounds good.
Courtney stands up and begins rummaging through some clothes in the closet.
Courtney: They got you planned out for anything tonight?
Simon: Nope. I told both feds that I'm spending the night with you.
Courtney: That's sweet.
Simon: So what you wanna' do?
Courtney: Let's just take a long drive and then we'll figure it out from there.
Simon: Okay, it's your night babe, whatever you want.
Courtney: Okay, I'll be back out in just a few minutes.
Fade.
