[Fade up.]
[The scene opens to the inside of Simon Terry's studio apartment in Memphis, Tennessee. This time, for the first time since his return, Simon Terry is alone. He's sitting on his leather sofa with his feet propped up on a glass cofee table. He's dressed in a pair of khaki dresspants, a black "Stitch" t-shirt, and a pair of black Harley Davidson brand boots. We get the closeup shot just as Simon begins dialing somebody on his cordless telephone. Well, not just anybody, Simon's dialing his brother Cole (Young)Terry.]
Simon: Hey. What you been doing?
Cole: Same thing as always, trying to get those kids ready for the big time.
Simon: So, Wolfgang make it there?
Cole: Simon, why did you send him back here?
Simon: Cole, I know you think he's ready. The kid's got alot of talent and alot of heart. It's just that he doesn't understand alot of the backstage business that goes on here in NEW.
Cole: You were all gung ho on helping this kid out just less than a week ago, so tell me what happened.
Simon: Last night when we got into Memphis, I wanted the kid to see what it was like and show him the town. So we started with Beale Street. It was cool for the first couple of hours or so, but then we went into Silky O'Sullivans. The kid downed not one, but two divers buckets. Cole do you understand how much alcohol is in one of those buckets?
Cole: Who are you talking to?
Simon: Yeah. Anyway, he started picking fights. I don't mean defending himself, he was actually trying to start fights with every man in the bar. I can't have somebody like that around. The NEW's trying a different direction now that AJ is in charge, and they're not going to stand for hotheads. Especially a rookie hothead. Cole, Wolfgang is a liability, and I'm having to rebuild myself in NEW. I can't have that.
Cole: I understand.
Simon: It's just that everyone here remembers the whole namechange thing, and the whole Rhemses Trekker deal. Not to mention the drunken Shawn Stryker parodies that I did a few months back with the ML World title. You know, I took it hard when the oWo was forced to split and I lost the Cruiserweight title. I felt like I was at the top of my game and then lost it all.
Cole: What do you need?
Simon: I definately need you to keep working with Wolfgang for now. The biggest thing I need right now though is somebody to help watch my back.
Cole: I can call up Cage.
Simon: I know that he would be more than willing to come back and help me out here in NEW, but with no disrespect, I don't think Cage is ready for the ring just yet. There's alot of new clowns here that came from Tennessee and they are trying to make a name for themselves.
Cole: I saw the Shifty bits.
Simon: He's not the only one I'm talking about. There's that guy Dylan Jones. I can already see that he's going to willing to do whatever it takes to make a name for himself in NEW. Then there's Destructo, the guy is a nutcase. I need somebody dependable to watch out for me, just to make sure that none of these guys try to use me as a stepping stone for a run in attack or anything. I know Mikey, and I know that he's going to be fair opponent, but there's limited spots for Firefights matches. These guys that I'm talking about are going to want one of those spots, and there's really no telling what they might do to get it.
Cole: Who you want? Lewis?
Simon: Same problem as Wolfgang, he's just not ready.
Cole: The Lane brothers?
Simon: I've already talked to AJ about giving them a shot. I don't think he believes that they fit the bill right now.
Cole: Cissy?
Simon: Hell no.
Cole: You guys were ML tag champs for a long time, you can't just push her aside like that.
Simon: She's a great wrestler and we had our time, but it would never work again.
Cole: Then that only leaves two more people, Rhemses and myself.
Simon: I can't trust Rhemses yet. The people here in NEW don't know all the behind the scenes stuff. They don't know about Banshee and Jessica and all the reconciling and stuff, it could get confusing to them. And I just don't know if I can trust him yet.
Cole: You know that I trust him, if I didn't I wouldn't have even mentioned sending him there. He's already a star just like you. He's got nothing to prove by backstabbing you, but I can come and help you if you want.
Simon: You don't have the time.
Cole: No, actually I don't, but hey it's my little brother.
Simon: No, you stay there and train those kids. They're going to be the future of places like NEW. They need you. Just send Rhemses.
Cole: You sure.
Simon: (In a very monotone voice.) Not really, but I'll make it work.
Cole: I'll put him on a plane first thing in the morning and he'll be in Memphis by tommorrow night.
Simon: (Still monotone.) Just call and let me know when to pick him up at the airport.
Cole: Okay, and if you see mom while your down there, tell her hey for me and tell her the kids are doing fine.
Simon: Sure thing.
Cole: Now, go and get some sleep. Stop worrying so much. You are supposed to be enjoying this.
Simon: I am.
Cole: I'll call you tommorrow. Bye.
Simon: Bye.
[Fade.]
