Fade up.

The scene opens to the inside of Simple Simon Terry's newest apartment in Little Rock, Arkansas. Simon is sitting with his current squeeze Courtney on a brown and tan loveseat. He's putting on a pair of K-Swiss shoes and looking through last Monday's newspaper.

Courtney: I'm starved, when can we go eat?

Simon: NEW's sending the camera crew over in just a few minutes. I'm gonna do a quick interview and then we'll split.

Courtney: Cool. You seem different, you upset about something?

Simon: No. I'm just a little bummed about selling the house in Honolulu. I've had that house for almost nine years now. It was home for five years.

Courtney: It's all signed now, there's no backing out anymore.

Simon: I know. I'll be fine with it, just thinking about the memories it had. Did you know that my first promo in HIW was shot at that house. It was kinda like that show on MTV. All I did was walk around and show off the house.

Courtney: I like that show.

Simon: Me too. It's kinda like telling the world, "hey, I've made it".

Courtney: Like the cars.

Simon: Yep.

At that point Courtney and Simon are disturbed by a knock on the door. Simon opens it and the NEW cameracrew walk in and begins setting up.

Simon: You guys gotta make this quick, I've got some plans with my girl.

Cameraman 1: Cool. It'll just take a sec.

The cameramen continue setting up as Courtney and Simon make a little smalltalk. Nothing too personal in front of the crew. Finally, Simon has a seat in a leather Queen Ann in front of his bookshelf.

Simon: I've got a little explaining to do about where I've been the last week or so. I feel that alot of people believe I'm getting a little stagefright about Lord of the Ring 12. That's simply not so, and that's why I'm here doing this promo.

Last week, just after Firefights ended, I was returning to my hotel and was in a car accident. Nothing tragic, no one was hurt, but a pretty good bump to say the least. Due to that car wreck, I've had a pretty rough case of whiplash. Therefore, I decided not to do any promos for Lord of the Ring. I felt that everyone seeing Simple Simon Terry in a neckbrace showed them a little weakness. Besides, I didn't want to go on television looking like Bobby Heenan. I mean, Ozzy looked pretty cool in a neckbrace at the Grammy's a couple of week back, but I'm not an Osbourne, and I felt pretty dorky with this lifeclamp around my neck.

BUT, since then, I've heard alot of talk about Simon Terry, even from the people I respect more than NEW itself. I do understand each of them's point. I've been in matches and had nothing to work with. I've been in matches where my opponent just walked in and didn't think I was good enough to even mention. So as a result, I decided to cut this promo. I'd rather admit the weakness of my neck, and walk into Lord of the Ring as a target, than go in there as somebody who doesn't care. When it's all said and done, I could care less about respect and friendship from everyone in NEW, but they will say that I'm a worker. Nobody will say that I ever lost a match because I gave up on winning. So now that I'm talking, I would like to go over each of the participants in the Lord of the Ring 12 tournament....

Simon: First, I would like to start with my first opponent in the tourney, Adam Cage. I will say this...the guy is tough. AC, I've watched all the footage of your taipei death matches, table matches, and I quit matches. I feel like you could give anyone in NEW a big run in any type of hardcore matches, but I'm building myself on becoming world champion. I will be main eventing against the World Champion, if not at Survival of the Fittest, someday, and someday very soon. So, I plan on walking into LOTR this weekend and giving my first match against you 110%, strained neck or not.

Secondly, I'm going to move onto En Fuego. A man that I've had matches with in the past. The brother of not only my rival but one I consider to be one of the greatest cruiserweights in the business. Fuego, I feel still has alot to offer NEW in the future, but he's got to get his head into the game more. But he's got to get through Justin Sharp, who's also showed himself to be a future name in NEW. Unlike Fuego, Sharp has something to prove at Lord of the Ring. He's got to show the world that he's not a rookie and he can go toe to toe with the veterans.

Now onto another bracket....It pits a guy that I've found respect from in NEW, a former NEW World Champion, Riptide. He and I went the limit last week at Firefights showing that world what we were both made of. Riptide knows that I came out on top of his first return matchup in NEW. He knows that Simple Simon Terry is going to become the future of NEW. He respects that, and I respect him for that. I'd like to see a little return match between us as Lord of the Ring, but Rip has to get through Will Storm first. Will has decided to come out of the cave this week, proving that his love for NEW hasn't grown weak....even in a time that he's found one of the biggest matches in his career in his moonlight federation. Everyone knows that there's no love loss between Will Storm and myself. He's already spewed off at the mouth this week about me more that once. He's building it up that I beat him a few weeks ago because he didn't care. He said that he didn't feel I was worthy of facing him. So that's an excuse Will? I won that match, because you were better than me? To steal a line from my buddy Shawn...that's some funny ass shit....Sorry Shawn.

Anyway, on to the final two in the LOTR brackets, Adam Young and Hardcore Jay. Adam Young gets his kicks by beeing the bad guy. His name fits him well...The Devil Himself. As much as I despise the guy, I can't help but like him. Gay bashing antics and trying to piss on the NEW fedhead may not land you a win, but it'll sure make you one of the top heels in the biz. Adam Young's got the tougest job of the night in beating Hardcore Jay. Jay is coming off a loss against Skull Flyer last week. He watched as his U.S. title shot slipped right through his fingers and now he's focused on something a little higher on the ladder. I'm with SBK on saying that Jay has been working hard for NEW for a long time. He deserves a shot at the title, but he's got to fight three matches at LOTR and possibly one against his best friend Will. So that takes me to the what ifs?......

What if Harcore Jay wins over Adam Young and Will Storm wins over Riptide? Hardcore Jay and Will Storm have already had problems in other places. Who's to say that Hardcore Perfection will be friends going into a match together, much less coming out of one. Either way, there's a strain on both of them and an extra bit of stress on eaches shoulders...but sometimes friendly comepetition keeps things going strong. Hardcore Perfection is going to want to step back into that ring with Street Wise and take our gold sometime in the near future. Rhemses and I will be ready when that day comes, I'm sure Will and Jay will too, if they can withstand this fight at this weeks pay per view.

What if Adam Cage and Justin Sharp have to face each other? Cage and Sharp both have said that they are looking for singles fame in NEW, can their friendship last through that? Cage would have to make an upset victory over me to even make it to Sharp, and Sharp is going in there against the World's Sickest SOB. I really don't feel that we'd see that happen, but hey this is the "what if?" part of the promo.

Next, what if Simon Terry goes on to win the tournament and become the Lord of the Ring? That would mean that another pair of friends in NEW would have to face off at Survival of the Fittest. That would mean SBK/SST 4. This time there would be no Ric Flashes or Power's That Be to ruin them. This time it would be SBK at his best and SST as his. This time I would go into that match feeling that I deserved it. Simon Terry and Shawn Stryker would face each other again for a "World Championship". I'm going to save all my talk of that for another date.

What if by some upset chance Pete Hardy won his electrified cage match against SBK in the main event? The Pete Hardy would be World Champion and have to face the "Lord of the Ring". Would Pete Hardy be the champion that SBK is? The world will have to see what happens on the 29th right here in Little Rock.

The cameraman cuts the camera and begins packing up his equipment.

Cameraman 1: Thanks. I'll take this back to the offices and let editing work on it for the show.

Simon: No problem, now if you guys will excuse me, Courtney and I have to start getting ready for dinner and a movie.

Cameraman 1: PASSION came out yesterday.

Simon: No, I may see it on DVD a few months from now. I'm thinking more along the lines of 50 FIRST DATES. Sandler always funny. Well except when he tries dark humor.

On that the scene fades as the cameramen walk out and Simon and Courtney make thier way into the large bathroom to begin a shower.
