| Housing
& Neighborhoods |
|
The area of Livingston is very beautiful and
quaint looking. Housing close to the hospital
is very expensive and hard to find, so come out
early. Do some research and start looking early.
Surrounding areas with reasonable prices include:
South Orange, Montclair, Springfield, Hanover,
and Whippany which are all about a 10 minute drive
from the hospital. Since students will be traveling
between Newark and Livingston, choosing housing
in Montclair or South Orange is ideal, since they
lie between the two hospitals (about 10-15 minutes
from each).
There are apartments available across the street
from the hospital (which is very convenient) although
some students have had problems there.

Transportation |
|
A car in Livingston is necessary. Students will
have to travel between Livingston and Newark for
rotations.
Busses are available for city transportation
and stop at the hospital. Subways take commuters
to Brooklyn / New York City. Newark Airport is
about 20 minutes from the hospital.
