The Argo squad had key players injured, couldn't tackle had their lives depended on it and had the hardest time trying to move the ball.
By looking at the final score it is hard to believe that the Argonauts were the ones who started the game on a good note by scoring the first six points.
In Toronto's first possesion, Jacob Marini scored a field goal after the offence had a long, well-played drive that gave the 20,612 fans in attendance a sigh of relief.

It didn't take long before the sighs turned into moans of anxiety.
The Alouettes started a scoring drive, a scoring drive that would pump out 45 un-answered points!

In the first quarter Calvillo threw an 80-yard touchdown-pass to receiver Jock Climie. "A lot of the credit goes to Anthony," said Climie. "He puts the ball on the money and places it where our guys can take off downfield.

attempts.
"The key is that we have a lot of guys who returned from last year," said Calvillo. "We all know the system and that's given us a head start."
The major key to the Als win is that they didn't concentrate all their offence on their running game. Mike Pringle had 92 yards and two touchdowns rushing. But Calvillo decide to show that Montreal can do more than run, he had a fierce aerial attack whcih left the Argos stumped. They didn't know when to stop Pringle, or Climie or Browning. |

The Argos meanwhile had only 4 downs and 58 yards of offence in the second half, with not one point.
Argo coach John Huard said the game could have been worse had they not scored the first six points, but he admitted had the got 14 it would have been a whole new ball game.
"When you take the ball and get down in that are and only get six points when you easily could of come out with 14 point's, that's a big difference," he said. If we had the 14 points early on, I guarantee you this is a different game."
