WELCOME TO CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR
Take the following steps to apply.

STEP ONE
Take "Climb On Safely"
offered at
Scouter Success Seminar
or at
Camp Grimes
Bring signed certification card to each class.

STEP TWO
REGISTER ONLINE FOR FALL
CLIMBING INSTRUCTOR COURSE HELD AT
SCOUTER SUCCESS SEMINAR

STEP THREE
BUY "TOPPING OUT"
A BSA CLIMBING/RAPPELLING MANUAL
ONLINE OR AT ANY SCOUT SHOP
AND READ IT

STEP FOUR
BRING $20 FOR FOOD

STEP FIVE
HEALTH FORM
Each youth and adult who attends must have an annual health history form completed prior to the course. Bring it to Climbing Instructor Part II held at Camp Grimes. Click on appropriate class to download the medical form which fits your case.
Class 1 and 2
Youth and Adults
under the age of 40 require Personal Health and Medical Record Class 1 and Class 2 (Form #34414) which requires a physical examination by a physician within the past 36 months plus a medical history completed by a parent, guardian, or adult within the past 12 months. A copy of a military or athletic physical is acceptable, however, please complete a current medical history form for the last 12 months and attach a copy of the physical to the form.
OR
Class 3
Adults
over the age of 40 and any youth participating in the High Adventure or Project COPE programs must have a Class 3 (Form #34412) Medical Form completed which requires a physical examination by a physician within the past 12 months.

STEP SIX
Bring a copy of your Health Form noted above and
a copy of
any certifications you currently hold related to
climbing, first aid, cpr or wilderness training.

STEP SEVEN
Pack for a camping trip including tent and appropriate attire for climbing. Bring your own beverages, water bottle filled, snack, toiletries, personal first aid kit, prescriptions you would require.

STEP EIGHT
Confirm you attendance by calling the instructor at 704-200-0595.

You may bring your own harness including purchase documentation for inspection or one will be provided. You may bring additional climbing gear for display and discussion only. Old ropes etc may be donated for training gear.
