Alfred Boyce Taylor, of Garden City, died on Oct. 23, 2003 in Mercy Hospital with his wife of 58 years, Jean Peterson Taylor, at his side. He had been in very poor health after a lengthy illness.
He was born in Recife, Brazil, on Nov. 4, 1920 to Southern Baptist missionary parents, William Carey Taylor and Grace Sisco Taylor. Al Taylor had lived in Garden City for 47 years after moving there from Schnectady, where he worked for General Electric. A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, he retired in 1995 after more than 50 years as an electrical engineer, the last 30 with Armor Elevator Company.
He leaves his wife, Jean; and their three children, Peter Lee Taylor of Del Mar, CA, Deborah Jean Taylor of Roslyn, and Julie Ann Taylor of Cambridge, MA. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor of New York and Christina Taylor Dietrich of Madison, WI; and by his sister, Jean Taylor Nelson of Tonganoxie, KS. His other two sisters, Clara Taylor Wilson of Greenville, SC, and Betty Taylor Howard of Walkertown, NC, predeceased him.
The funeral was held Oct. 26 at the Fairchild Chapel in Garden City with cremation private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to: ACLD Circle of Commitment for Roslyn House, 807 South Oyster Bay Rd., Bethpage, NY 11714.

Mr. Arthur Eugene "Art" Taylor was Born February 19, 1959 in Henning, Tennessee, the son of Sammie Lee and Katie Jean (Campbell) Taylor, Sr. In 1976, he moved to Flint and graduated from Flint Northern High School, "Class of 1978". "Art" attended U of M Flint and P.S.I. Institute in FL, earning a degree in auto mechanics. He was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. "Art" was a loving devoted husband, father and son. He enjoyed fixing cars, traveling and especially enjoyed being with his family.

Mrs. Barbara Taylor was born February 10, 1962 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Cecil Snell and Marjorie Johnson.
Barbara resided in the Flint area all her life. On March 22, 1986 she was united in marriage to Joe N. Taylor. To this union 2 children were born. She was employed at Mott Children Health Center for 11 years. She attended Ross Medical Education Center, where she graduated with her dental certificate C.D.A then R.D.A. Barbara also attended Baker College where she was working towards a degree in Radiology. Barbara loved doing Arts and Crafts and attending The Craft Shows. She also loved to dance and enjoyed special events with family and friends.

TAYLOR, Charles L. - Of Flint, age 81, died Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 2PM Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Richard Brennan officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation 5-8PM Monday, 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Taylor was born in Flint, Michigan on March 22, 1926. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He graduated from Central High School in Flint, and Radio Electronic Television School in Detroit.
Mr. Taylor completed a General Electric Factory Training Course in Theory, Operation & Maintenance of Color Television Receivers on June 26, 1957 and owned Taylor's Television Service from 1954 thru 1959. He received an honor award from AMF for 20 years of service as a repairman for bowling machines that set up the pins.
Mr. Taylor was a member of South Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. He loved to whistle and liked country and classical as well as gospel music.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Nadine Schell and husband George of Flint, Gwendolyn Jarrett of Swartz Creek, Norma Taylor of Flint, Patricia and Janet Taylor of Swartz Creek; nieces, Sandra Buxton and husband Reg Buxton of Naples, FL, Diana Jarrett of Knoxville, Tennessee; nephew, Roland Taylor and wife Hiroko of Chesapeke, VA; great-nephew, Jon Buxton and wife Dina of Ballwin, MO; great-great-niece, Heidi Buxton and husband Anthony Deluca of Naples, Florida; great-great-nieces, Stephanie Taylor of Chesapeake, VA, Cameron and Saffron of Naples, FL; great-great-nephews, Patrick and Sean of Ballwin, MO; cousin, Beverly Ellis and husband Don and family of Holly, MI, Jerry Nichols and wife Carol of Pontiac, MI.

TAYLOR, Chester A. - Age 90, peacefully departed this earth on Saturday, November 19, 2005 from Avalon Hospice, Flint, surrounded by family and friends. Viewing will be observed Tuesday, November 22, 2005 from 2PM to 7PM at Brown Funeral Home, 1616 Davison Rd., Flint. Services are scheduled for 11AM Wednesday, November 23, 2005, Rev. Nelson Swinehart officiating.
Chester was born July 9, 1915 in Flint, Michigan. He attended Central High School, playing clarinet in the Central High School band. Following a tour of duty in the Armed Forces during WWII, he finally graduated from Beecher High School. He then attended GMI and worked at Fisher Body I, a proud member of U.A.W., Local 581, retiring after thirty years of faithful service.
Chester loved to read, his favorite subject material relating to the American Civil War. He loved all sports, especially softball. As a young man he pitched for an un-named, un-uniformed local team with brother "Stub"; brother-in-law and buddy, Johnny Poulsen, future nephew and life long friend, Harold Burns; buddy and catcher, "Shanney" Smith, who later died in WWII .
Chester loved God with all his heart, attending Genesee Avenue Free Methodist Church for many years. He was an active member of Faith Bible Baptist Church, Lapeer at the time of his death.
Chester touched many hearts with wisdom, humor and charm. He was friend and mentor to many. He always had time for anyone who needed an ear to listen.
Those loved ones left to cherish his memory include: sons, Charles and wife Linda Taylor of Deckerville, Gregory Taylor of Flint, Mark and wife Valle Taylor of Williamston, Chad and wife Linda Taylor of Dimondale; grandchildren, Robert, Tennille, Jesseca, Benjamin, Chad Lee, Jordan, Jarad and great granddaughter, Chloe. Also surviving his loss are his beloved and faithful wife, Elsie Bugbee Taylor, the love of his life; step-daughters, Patricia Bugbee Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Laraine Bugbee Grosvenor of Flint; niece, Jean Ione Burns and husband Harold of Flint; nieces, Linda and Sandy; true friend and comforter, nephews, Robert "Bob" Thurlow of Davison; dear and thoughtful friends, Larry and Ardis Macdonald and Diane Gossett, all of Flushing.
A special thank you to the wonderful staff at Avalon Hospice. It was with God's blessings that Chester was placed in your care. You provided peace and serenity to patient and family in these difficult times. For that we will be forever grateful.
Now, Chester has moved on to a much greater place to meet those loved ones who had preceded him in death: parents, George and Bessie (Van Slyke) Taylor; brother, Alber "Stub" Taylor; sister, Ione Poulsen Doyle; granddaughter, Wendy; step son, Thomas Raymond Bugbee; friends, Shanney, Johnny, Martin and many more.
He has gone now, however, he will never be gone from our hearts. One day we'll meet again, as promised, in the Sweet Bye and Bye.

TAYLOR, Coleman P. "Pete" - Of Flushing and Grand Blanc, Michigan, age 89, died July 26, 2007, at Avalon Hospice, as a result of complications from a stroke suffered while vacationing in the Upper Peninsula. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007, at Rossell Funeral Home; Rev. John Musgrave officiating. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2007.

Mr. Taylor, the son of Judge John Dighton and Margaret F. (Moran) Taylor, was born December 26, 1917, in Mohall, N. Dakota.
He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a Silver Star, a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
Pete married Leila Silviani April 29, 1946, in Rome, Italy; she preceded him in death June 4, 2002.
He retired from the materials control department of Fisher Body.
Pete enjoyed reading, traveling, watching sports, and playing golf, billiards and bridge.
He is survived by: his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Ralph Rossell of Flushing; granddaughter, Lisa T. and husband Christopher P. Riccobono of Frankenmuth; grandson, Nicholas T. Rossell of Lansing and Flushing; beloved dog, Bruno; nieces; nephews; cousins; friends; and the staff of Sorrentos Restaurant who was like a second family for him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and George Ells; and 7 half brothers and sisters. Pap�/Opa was a loved father, father-in-law and grandfather.
He was a fount of information and a great listener. We will miss him!

Daniel was an avid Michigan State fan and enjoyed gardening. He was a Past Master of Davison Masonic Lodge No. 236, F.&A.M. and also a member of Morning Star Masonic Lodge No.#556 F.&A.M.
Surviving are children, Daniel Kenneth Taylor, Jr., Winfield (Lyle) Taylor , Shannon Venable, all of Flint; grandchildren, Danny, Josh, Haley, Hannah, Laney and Lydia; mother, Lois Burkett of St. Johns; brother, Charles Leroy and wife Barb Taylor of St. John's; sister, Debbie and husband John Fenech of Royal Oak; brother, Harry Taylor of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Leroy; step-father, Winfield Burkett ; brother, Jim and sister Leah.

TAYLOR, Donald C. - Of Flint, age 77, died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at his residence. Donald was born in Pine Run, Michigan on October 9, 1927. He married Florence Burke (Horton) in Flint, Michigan on February 24, 1970.
Donald served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of UAW Local #659, retiring from Chevrolet.
Surviving are his wife, Florence; children, Ralph Horton of Owosso, Bryan and wife Barbara Horton of Flint, Dianna and husband Marvin Hunter of Arizona, Linda and husband Don Parsons-Miller of Atlanta, MI, Donald and wife Mary Taylor of N.C., Annette and husband Robert Stanley of Clio, Larry Horton of Warren, Karen and husband David Edson of Almont, James and wife Anne Marie Taylor of Fenton, Kevin and wife Sharilyn Horton of Flint, Tina and husband Dave Sweers of Clio, Mark Horton of Flint, Keith and wife Marcia Taylor of Roger City; 40 grandchildren; 48, great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Marcus and Katrese McGluan and family of Mt. Clemens.
He is preceded in death by son, Dennis; Parents; Brothers and sisters.

Born in Detroit, MI, he was a son of the late Arwood Edward Taylor and Gladys Edith Rhodes Lovall. He was retired from Allen Storage & Moving in Flint, MI, which is an agent for Allied Van Lines. He was a member of the Lutheran Church by the Lake in McCormick.
Surviving are his wife of the home; a daughter, Sandra DaLee DeCarolis of Corvallis, OR; a son, Steven Dennis Taylor of Lake Orion, MI; a sister, Mary Lou Carey of New Boston, MI; a brother, Gerald Arwood Taylor of Oklahoma; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Donald was the son of Floyd Allen Taylor and Gladys Christina Scott. He has five sisters, Hazel Cummins, Betty and husband Ron Kildow, Gloria and Husband Richard Holbin, Esther and husband Larry Reinhardt, Mabel, and husband Ralph Aquon. He also leaves behind two brothers, George and wife June, Charles and wife Joyce.
He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew Herbert Wool; great-nephew, Jeremy Cummins.

TAYLOR, Edmund J. - Age 86, of Flint, passed away December 24, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, December 28, 2005, James Rupert, pastor officiating. Cremation will follow services.
Mr. Taylor was born November 7, 1919 to Marvin and Genevieve (Kerns) Taylor.
Mr. Taylor retired from General Motors and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a member of the Flintstones Camping Club and a member of the City of Flint Reserve Police.
He is survived by a daughter Linda and husband Michael White of Columbiaville; sons, Robert Taylor of Naples, Florida, Richard Taylor of Flint, Rodney Taylor of Flint; grandchildren, Sean, Mellia, Renee', Theresa and Michael; 5 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Taylor in 1982.
