Autumn Lea Peters July 24, 1941- Feb. 11, 2006

Autumn Lea Peters, 64, of Mt. Pleasant left this world on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Ingham Medical Center in Lansing. Funeral services for Autumn will be Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m. from the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church with the Rev. Owen White-Pigeon officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends today after 2 p.m. and Tuesday after 2 p.m. at the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church.

There will be prayer services at 7 p.m. both this evening and Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the church or at Clark Funeral Chapel.

Autumn was born the daughter of Romie and Lorna (Doone) Holley on July 24, 1941, in Mt. Pleasant, and lived here her entire life. She married Phillip G. Peters Sr. Sept. 23, 1963, in Mt. Pleasant and enjoyed nearly 44 years of marriage with him.

Autumn loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed deer hunting, especially hunting camp, taking "rides," decorating for the holidays and shopping.

Autumn is survived by her husband Phillip G. Peters Sr. of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Angela J. (Kevin) Mitchell of Blanchard; sons Phillip G. Peters Jr. of Harrison and Noel (Natalie) Peters of Laingsburg; grandchildren Anna Mae, Autumn "Ellie," and Samuel Mitchell, Ericca Peters and Phillip G. Peters III, and Taylor and Paige Peters; sister Jean Ann McNeal of Mt. Pleasant; brother Bobby James (Sally) Holley of Lenora, Tenn.; and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Autumn was preceded in death by her parents, Romie D. and Lorna "Peggy" Holley.

Floyd James Peters March 17, 1925 - April 22, 1999

Floyd James Peters, 74, of Mt. Pleasant went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 22, 1999.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church with Rev. Owen Whitepigeon and Rev. Carla Sineway officiating. Visitation will be today from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will continue on Monday at the church.

Mr. Peters was born March 17, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of James and Helen (Bennett) Peters. He married Beatrice Davis on June 25, 1979, in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Peters was a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan and a member of the Chippewa Indian Methodist Church In Mt. Pleasant. He lived his life in Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Peters was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from March 7, 1944, to April 21, 1946. During his service, Mr. Peters received an American Area Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Area Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Ribbon, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, He was a retiree of Fabiano Brothers in Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Peters is survived by his wife, Beatrice Peters; his children, Ruth Ann Moses of Mt. Pleasant, Lillian (Richard) Madison of Ypsilanti, James (Sherry) Peters of Grand Rapids, and Stephanie Peters of Mt. Pleasant; Josephine (Willis Jr.) Jackson, Garland (Lorrie) Moses, Beverly Vasquez, Larry Pelcher, and Sue (William) Durfee; sistersTheresa (Andrew Sr. ) Falcon and Betsy Hall; brothers Phil (Autumn) Peters and Gerald (Barb) Peters, all of Mt. Pleasant; Destiny Peters, Star Madison and Richard Madison of Ypsilanti, and James Peters Jr. and Anthony Peters of Grand Rapids; 25 step-grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parent, James and Helen Peters; sisters Juliann (Peters) Floyd, Emma (Peters) Slater, Christine (Peters) Graveratte, and an infant brother.

Gerald Peters July 30, 1932 - September 10, 2003

Gerald Peters, age 71, of Mt. Pleasant, passed from this world in peace with the Lord, on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at his home. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 12, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Marshall Collins officiating. Visitation was on Thursday, September 11 at the church with a wake service in the evening. Memorial contributions were suggested to a charity of the donors choice.

Gerald was born in Nottawa Township, Isabella County, Michigan on July 30, 1932 to Helen Bennett and James H. Peters. Gerald graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1952. He then enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1954. He married Barbara Anne Blaisdell on May 1, 1976. He worked in construction for many years and retired as a security guard from the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. Gerald was a member of the Chippewa Indian Tribe, and the Michigan Laborers Union.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Barbara of Mt. Pleasant; his brother Phillip (Autumn) Peters, Sr; his sister, Theresa Falcon, all of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters, Cynthia (Patrick) Currie of Flint, Patricia Symons of Alma, and Kay (Art) Kievit of Escanaba; grandchildren, Shane (Stacie) McCulley, Margaret (Jamie) Massey, Mega (Dan) Sodini, Amanda McCulley, Angie (Rod) Carter, Brian McCulley, Charles (Jill) Kievit, Beth (Gerald) Busick, Abby Kievit, William Kievet, and Heidi Kievit; great grandchildren, Amanda, Wesley, Brooke, Heather, Ashley, Shannon, Dione, Gillian, Allie Rose, Kate, Adrina, and Chloe, Laura, Donald, and Jamie, Jr; and many nieces and nephews who sorely will miss their uncle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Peters; sisters Emma Slater, Christine Graveratte, Betsey Hall, and Judy Floyd; and brothers, Selkirk and Floyd Peters.

Mrs. Peters dies at 67

Mrs. Helen Peters, 67, of 1008 Lyons St., died Friday at the Saginaw County Hospital.

She was born in Isabella County on August 28, 1900 where she had been a life-long resident.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the North Branch Church with Rev. Lester Priest officiating. Burial will be in Rosebush Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Peters residence until noon Monday.

Mrs. Peters is survived by her husband, Rev. James Peters, retired Methodist minister; five daughters, Mrs. Christian Graverette of Saginaw; Mrs. Emma Slater, Mrs. Theresa Falcon, Mrs. Betsie Hall, and Mrs. Judy Floyd all of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Gerald, Floyd and Phillip Peters all of Mt. Pleasant.

Also surviving are two brothers, Charles and Stanley Bennett, both of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mrs. Clara Naywonagaunt of Oscoda and 50 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Stinson Funeral Home.

Rev. James H. Peters of 1008 Lyons St., died early Oct. 25 at Central Michigan Community Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Isabella County June 29, 1870.

He was ordained as a Methodist minister at Albion College in 1946 and was a minister in this area until his retirement in 1961.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct 27. from the North Branch Indian Church with burial in Rosebush Cemetery. Rev. Lee Long will officiate.

He was a member of the Indian Methodist Church, a veteran of WWI, and is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Chester (Christine) Graveratte of Saginaw, Mrs. George (Emma) Slater, Mrs. Andrew (Theresa) Falcon, Mrs. Foster (Betsy) Hall, and Mrs. Fred (Judy) Floyd, all of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, Floyd, Gerald and Phillip, all of Mt. Pleasant, and 34 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in 1968.

Selkirk Frank Peters, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. James Peters, 1008 Lyons Street, died Tuesday, March 31, at his parent's home.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon, April 3, at 2:00 p.m. from the North Branch Church with interment in Rosebush. A prayer service will be held at home at 1:00 p.m. J.J. Rush is in charge of arrangement.
