Betsey M. Hall, born February 16, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant. She was the granddaughter of Henry Petay and Martha Thomas and David Bennett and Betsey Smith and the daughter of James Henry Peters and Helen Bennett, died Sunday, December 3, 2000 at Gratiot Community Hospital in Alma.

Funeral Services will take place on Wednesday, December 6, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Bill Bird of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Rosebush.

Friends may call at her home, 7491 E. Broadway, on Tuesday, December 5, 2000. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chippewa Indian United Methodist Church. Envelopes are available at her home, Helms Funeral Home and the church.

Betsey was born February 16, 1930 in Mt. Pleasant. She married Albert G. Alonzo on February 14, 1953 who preceded her in Death. She married Foster Hall and today remain good friends.

She was a lifetime resident of the area. Betsey was a homemaker and also worked in the card room as a soft counter from 1988 until 1997. She enjoyed reading and watching baseball games.

She is survived by her children, Valerie (Raymond) Wright, Carla (Stanley) Sineway, Connie (Lewis) Sprague, Roberta Starkey and friend John Maynard Jackson, Carol (Owen) White Pigeon, and Foster Hall Jr. and his friend, Cathy, all of Mt. Pleasant; 11 grandchildren, Shellie Avery, Carla Jeffery, Ken Jeffery Jr., Christopher Sineway Jr., Lewis Sprague, Amos Cloud, Patricia Alonzo, Betsey Alonzo, James Starkey, and Robbie White Pigeon; 15 great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Theresa Falcon, Gerald Peters, Phillip Peters, all of Mt. Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alonzo; one grandson, Donald Jeffery; and brothers and sisters, Christine Gravette, Emma Slater, Julianne Floyd, and Floyd Peters.
