ISLAMABAD — Three member French expedition all mountain guides came to  Pakistan to climb Dulichish 6531 metres.

The three member team from Chamonix, is planning to make the first French ascent of the peak from the North/ North East side a technical route all the way.

The first ascent of the peak dates back to 1973 by the Swiss climbers who climbed from the South side a relatively easier route.

Twenty-one year old Yann Delevaux leader of the expedition said," It is 2000 meter face offering a mixed climb of both rock and ice."

We expect that the expedition can take us three to six days in Alpine Style."

Answering a query Yann said," The only information we have are three photographs which inspired us to climb the mountain and rest we will see when we reach there."

"The lower part offers a rock portion of 300 metres while the rest is mixed terrain."

"We are taking 200 metre of rope but we will see whether we should fix it or do without it."

"We picked the north side as it is unclimbed and it offers a technical challenge and besides we like to explore things."

The three climbers are visiting Pakistan for the first time but they have climbed in Pamir and South America.

The other two climbers are Matthieu Gervaise (25) and Sebastien Laurent (25).

The expedition will make Base Camp at 4500 metres and will plan the higher camp according to the terrain.
