Bad Ass Burban

Well after it took awhile but we now have a new (to us) horse in the stable. My new toy is a 1994 Chevy Suburban 2500. It has a 454cid motor with all the add ons. Full tow package and brake controller. It has front and rear hitch, stainless bars, alum. mudflaps, full vent shades, Catchall mats at all four locations, and full leather interior. I added the Advantage Wetlands camo and the cut out flames on the rear door. We can't have it look like anyone elses now can we? The rims are from a 2001 and we had to put new skins on right away. She does have a few miles on her but we should get plenty of use out of the old girl. This is what we have been needing around here since I sold my truck. With 8 passenger capacity, everybody can now take a friend and no more arguments. (yeah right)

We have the new Kenwood headunit in here. This is a very nice piece. It can register all of the main menu items to any other Kenwood amp it is hooked to. I can watch the sub amps temp, voltage, fan speed, and current draw all from the main screen. I also like the fact that it hides when off. No name on the face plate or anything to give away the brand or type of head. I added the camo just to be different.

I like having my radar wired into the truck. This also keeps the thing from falling down off the windshield. The A-pillar mount is for the Auto Meter Volt gauge that monitors the system battery. The switches are for the green neon and led's behind the grill and under the dash. They have led tips to note when on.

We have a pair of Coustic 4x6 plates in the top of the dash. The speakers are turned way down and the roto mount tweets are aimed to the outside edge of the winshield. They help raise the sound stage and the grills are wrapped in new grill clothe to look better than stock. The pods on the floor are the new Kenwood Excelon series 6 1/2's. They have a soft dome tweets and have mid bass for miles. I am very pleased by the way they sound.

All the main speaker are run by a JL Audio 4300 four channel amp. This is a killer little amp. The other is a Kenwood mono block for the sub. It is connected to the head and I can make changes and view important stats about the amp from the headunit itself. J&B Microfinish did the alum. cover for the Kenwood amp.

This is the new back end in the sub. I needed to clean things up and gain some very needed space. I like to be prepaired hence the army shovel on the rear door.

The drawer only took six inches of height overall and was well worth it. Now all of my stuff is organized and easy to get to. The sub is a JL Audio W1V2 13inch. It is a very good sub for the money. It is also up and out of the way now.

This is the new TV for the sub. It is a 13.3" model by Audiovox. It was a tip from a client that liked what we did to his car and thought we didn't charge him enough. It has been a very cool addition to the sub. Thanks Jerry and Julie.

This assembly holds the old dvd player and the new PS2. It also holds the power station. This is conected to the second battery and can be used when the truck is off. The batteries are completely isolated from each other and no matter what I will always have one fully charged battery to start the truck. The kids can charge cell phones or games or ipods from this station and not effect the truck. The mounting idea for the wireless controllers was my son Nick's idea. This keeps them easy to find and up and out of the way.

I added the stainless flamed grill and the dual battery setup. The deer was made by Jeff Bertram of J&B Microfinsh of Pontiac. He also did the duck on the rear of the truck. He added a red LED to the eye and I connected it to the third brake light.
