Money Pit

This 1964 Dodge Polara GT 500 Convertable belongs to Jerry and Julie Causer of Pontiac. They also happen to own the BEST DAMN PIZZA JOINT in this part of the United States. (Mario's Pizza 815-844-6816) It has been lowered and rolls on 17" shoes. Jerry bought this about 17 years ago and has been working on it ever since. (Insert funny comment from Julie here.)

The car has a 383 cid engine with an auto trans, full power top, full dual exahuast, an alum. radiator and a completely detailed engine bay. Everything has been rebuilt and or worked on to some degree.

The front speakers are Concept 6 1/2s in small pods on the floor.

This was the hard part. Getting an Eclipse pull out screen, CD/DVD/MP3 headunit to fit in the factory dash. As you can see the unit is out from the dash about 1 1/2 inches. This is so when the monitor slides out and stands up it will clear the eyebrow of the dash.

This is another creation from the J&B Microfinish team. If you need alum. work done these are the people to call.(see on link page) There is alot of time in both of these pieces and it turned out better than originally planned. We have alot of time and attention to detail in this kind of piece.

As you can see there was alot of work to do in the trunk. It houses the Eclipse 12" subs in custom boxes that actually go into the quarter panels. There are a pair of Kicker Impluse 6 1/2 inch coax speakers in the trunk on a switch so you can turn them on or off when the trunk is open. All three batteries are in here too. There is a red top Optima and two yellow tops to run everything.

The first amp is a Total Mobile Audio 4404. This is a 4 channel amp with plenty of power and all the toys. It runs all the interior speakers and the coax in the trunk. There is a Stinger 1 farad cap also for bass response. The sub amp is a Kenwood 811. It is very powerful and has every little display you could ever want. You can monitor volts, fan speed, temp, and amps all on the screen on the amplifier. It is fully digital and easy to view. I have this same amp in my Suburban and I love it. Now don't tell Jerry but I am having J&B make a new polished cover for his amp and mine. It will help cover the wires better and look alot better than the original one does. We are running about 1,000 watts in this car. I took it back tonite and let me tell you at 60 mph you can still hear the stereo very well. Hopefully he will be pleased. NEXT!!!
