Don & Tina's Baja

This '91, big block powered, red Baja belongs to Don and Tina Theunnissn of Chicago.

These are 6x9 Kicker speakers that are on switches. All switches on and the amps turn off and the head powers these. All switches off and the amps turn on and these speakers are off. It is nice if the people outside are jammin and the person in the cabin wants alittle quite time.

This is the Alpine 9847 head and the Concept 6 1/2s. All of main system speakers are Concepts. The Alpine does have a wireless remote.

These speakers are used when the boat is parked and you want more sound outside the boat. They can be put on the sundeck and turned any way you want. The main power circut breaker is right by the batteries. All system power is run through this so you can shut the whole system down whenever you want.

Two amps in this system. One Coustic 400bd mono for the subs and a Total Mobile Audio 440 4ch for the rest of the main speakers. The Total is running front and rear at 2ohms so it is running some good power.

The rear seat has a Concept 6 1/2 on each side and the ports for the subs are in the middle with alum. mesh on the back.

The subs are JL Audio 10" W1V2s. These are brand new and the first ones my dealer got. They are a nice medium priced sub. They are also plastic coned and rubber surround style. That makes them very durable in a boat application. The subs are in a MDF box coated with fiberglass resin, to shed water. The subs fire into the compartment of the seat and then are ported to the outside. Don and Tina have 5 kids and where the ports are is a main travel point to the back of the boat. This is alot safer for the subs and they were able to keep half of the seat storage instead of loosing it all. 1
