This 1997 Z28 convertable belongs to Bob and Michelle Cox. They are six time clients of ours and we like to think they like what we do. This is the first install job for my oldest, Billy. I am incapacitated at this time and he needed the money for car insurance. I was nothing more than a technical advisor on this one. This is a play toy for Bob and Michelle and they wanted to be able to hear the radio going down the road.

Of course this has the LS 350 motor and is an automatic trans car. Standard 4ga run from the battery to the amp. The car already had Rockford seperates in the doors, they just needed to be rewired.

This is the new Alpine 9873 with the optional ipod connector cable. This way the ipod can be hooked up and put in the glove box and forgotten. It will keep the unit charged and all the info comes up on the Alpine screen. The new red back lighting blends with the dash of the Camaro very well.

The rear speakers were kind of a pain. They had Sony Explode 6 1/2's but were not mounted well and both had come unplugged. After hooking them up we found that they sounded terrible. Those were removed and a set of Boston FX5's with a trim plate and backing pod were put into place. This way the sound from the back of the speaker was not fighting the sound coming from the front of the speaker. The Bostons are also a much better sounding speaker.

A TMA 3204 four channel amp was put in place to run the whole system. The front runs all interior speakers and the back is running a JL Audio 12w1v2 4ohm sub. The box was built to drop down into the well of the car. The black grate was added to save the amp and sub from any damage. This way the can still put bags or coolers or anything else on the rack and not damage anything. They are coming to pick up the car soon and hopefully they will like what has been done. Props to Billy for his first complete job. I guess he was paying attention on all those other jobs we have done.
