28.10.00 -Cliftonville draw in North Belfast derby
Cliftonville today drew 1-1 at Solitude against North Belfast rivals Crusaders, but did have a promising sign as debutant S�an Adams scored the opener in a dour game. Tommy McCallion with yet another assist set up Adams for the header. A full match report can be read here. Old boy and play-off hero from two years ago Peter Whitnell got the equaliser for the Crues. This draw leaves Cliftonville 7 points behind Linfield, and as Colreaine won today in the dying minutes, the title is becoming out of Cliftonvilles distance already with the young side.The league table can be view here.


27.10.00 -Collins banned by management
Cliftonville midfielder Mickey Collins has been banned from Cliftonvilles next two matches, including the North Belfast derby against Crusaders at Solitude tomorrow. Laurence Stitt has not announced as to why the player has been suspended, but it is known that he is banned from the Solitude premises. The 23 year old will be eligeble to play for the Reds in the home tie against Omagh Town on Saturday November 11th.

26.10.00 -Crues' gain new recruit
Crusaders have gained the expertise of 19 year old ex-Blackpool player Gavin Gilmore. He has signed to be eligible for the derby against Cliftonville on Saturday at Solitude. Ciaran Donaghy, 'Villes' assistant manager's son, will not be able to play in the family reunion derby on Saturday as Crusaders spokesman John Snedly said,"Ciaran will fly out with the Northern Ireland U21 squad on Sunday to Azores, and will not be eligable to play against Cliftonville in the league on the previous day".


14.10.00 -Cliftonville maintain good run

Cliftonville have kept hopes of a title mout this season with a last gasp 2-2 draw against Ballymena United at Solitude. an Aidan O'Kane brace on 48 and 90 minutes gave Cliftonville a share of the spoils after being behond twice. A full match report can be obtained here.Cliftonville stay second in the league table behind Belfast rivals Linfield. Things are looking good for the North Belfast club, but one problem appears to be mounting, depth in the squad. More quality players will have to attained if a serious title challage is to be mounted this season.

21.10.00 -Cliftonville defeated at Showgrounds
Cliftonville were today defeated by 3 goals to 1 by a galliant Coleraine as the Reds played Marty Quinns' side for the secona time this season. A two goal lead was given away, before Chris Scannell gave Cliftonville hope with a 66th minute strike, before Devine wrapped up the points with an 87th minute strike to give Coleraine the points as Linfield thrashed Omagh Town 5-1, they lead by 5 points in the table.
