Reds in Play-off

Cliftonville were defeated today, and Ballymena won, meaning a play-off against First Division opposition for the second year in a row. Ards is again the team who we play on May 2nd at 7.45 away. A 5-2 agreggate win last year kept us up, lets hope another repeat perfprmance can be achieved. Another dismal defeat again for the Reds, in hearelded yet another horrendus season which sees' them finish second bottom fot the second year in a row.
CLiftonville will be the favourites again, but are not to under estimate Ards, who could surprise the Reds with their counter attaking and fast flowing football.Hopefully this will be the end of a terrible two years which has seen us drop from Champions to nothing, its a terrible way to see Irelands oldest soccer club go through a terrible period of near relegation.

McCann leads "good-luck"

Former winger and crowd favourite Tim McCann lines uo for the Esat Belfast out-fit Glentoran with two simple words, "Good luck" In his plight with the Glens, they fae Cliftonville, his old club at The Oval on Saturday in a huge relegation/UEFA  Cup bearer match. Tims' been Cliftonville through and through, but a win for Glentoran  assuming Coleraine are defeated which Tim dearly hope happens, will put them in the UEFA cup with second position, hence, contrary for Cliftonville, a win for the Reds, will secure the Premier status for another season. Its a difficult predicament in which there are so many reprocussions and results which can go in Cliftonvilles favour and against them. Tim would deadly love his former team to stay up as he feels it would be "undeserving" if the North Belfast club went down.A former crowd favourite, lets hope he can do us a favour by not scoring against us!!

Inquiry into incident

The IFA have reprimanded Cliftonville Football club for an incident which took place against Linfield at Solitude on the 28.3.00. The Association have taken a lenient view as the club, had undergone such a heavy effort into staging the night game. A bottle was thrown from the Main Stand, and struck the referees assistant on the head. An inquiry is ongoing, lets hope a lenient approach is taken towards the Reds.
