American History Syllabus
Course Objective:
In two years you will graduate high school and become a US citizen with all the rights and responsibilities that come with this distinct honor.  Today, we often take for granted the freedom and prosperity in our society.  If one looks at the history of the world one realizes how unprecedented the life of an average American citizen really is.  This course will hopefully provide you with an appreciation for our great nation with an understanding of our shared history.  An understanding of our history is essential to becoming an educated citizen.  This course will be structured to help provide you with the tools to be a good citizen.  We will use a variety of activities to study our shared history (i.e. independent work, lectures, group work, are projects, simulations, videos, skits, etc).  If you come to class prepared and with a positive attitude, you will find our time together fun and informative.
