Hobbies and Interests:

Running, mountain biking, surfskiing, weight-lifting and training, reading, nature studies, landscaping, traveling, historic preservation, preserving local and family history. 

 

Cliff has served as a member of the WWII Wartime Wilmington Commemorative Committee and the statewide 125th Anniversary of the Civil War Event planning committee (1990).  He directed events commemorating the 40th anniversary of North Carolina’s State Historic Sites. He has spent many hours  since 1999 interviewing WWII veterans and workers associated with Camp Davis.  He frequently speaks to civic, veteran, and historical groups on the topic of Camp Davis

 

Personal:

Cliff and his wife Mary, an elementary school music teacher with the New Hanover County Schools, live in Wilmington.
