    Troop 33 was featured in American Libraries for their donation of $3,000 to the American Library Association Katrina Relief Fund. Troop 33 Scouts biked 500 miles from Memphis, TN to New Orleans, LA to raise the money.

    This monthly feature included photos and captions from around the nation edited by James E. West. One photo depicts Troop 33 Eagle Scout David Romeis of DeKalb, Illinois being presented the Hornaday Award for distinguished service to wildlife by Scout Executive E.F. Schmidt. David helped secure a 3300 acre bird and wildlife preserve. To promote the sanctuary he gave addresses and wrote articles on conservation.
