Cliff joined Troop 33 as a Scout in April 1965. He continued helping the troop while a college student. He's been serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 33 now for over 31 years.
BORING DETAILS
YOUTH
Cliff spent many happy years as a Scout in Troop 33, reaching the rank of Life Scout (just below Eagle) and attended summer camps at Rotary MacQueen, Chief Shabbona Wilderness, Chin-Be-Gota Scout Reservation, and Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. He served as Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 33. Cliff was also an Explorer in Post 376.
ADULT
As a college student Cliff continued helping with the troop. When longtime Scoutmaster Harold Snow died in June 1973, Cliff continued as an assistant Scoutmaster.
Following Harold Snow's death, Warren Scott and later Roger Hart served as Scoutmaster of Troop 33. After Roger Hart moved to Rockford Cliff was asked to be Scoutmaster in November 1976.
Cliff worked to rebuild the troop and continue its tradition of offering exciting high adventure programs. Since that time the boys of Troop 33 have traveled on countless adventures through 48 states and 19 foreign nations, while over 50 of his Scouts have earned the Eagle Award.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE
Cliff has always loved the outdoors and adventures of Scouting. It's a love he hopes to instill within his Scouts. Over the years adventure has been a major part of Troop 33's program.
The troop motto has become "Always an Adventure"
He has taken his Scouts to major cities, backpacking, beaches, bicycling, caving, dog sledding, hiking, horseback, ice boating, Jamborees, mountain biking, rafting, sailing, snorkeling, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and all sorts of wilderness adventure.
His Scouts have climbed mayan pyramids, biked down volcanoes, snorkeled coral reefs, explored great cities, paddled rivers, biked thousands of miles across America, worked on disaster response projects, and much more.
ADVENTURE TRAVEL
While Cliff has been Scoutmaster, his Scouts have traveled to 48 states in the U.S. plus 19 foreign nations in North America, Europe, and Central America.
