So everyone has now heard I'm sure of the Blair Witch of Maryland. Well I'm here to tell of you of a different tale, a tale that seems to have over the generations been repeated many times and has been said to have actual proof.
It seems that when Mrs. Leeds became pregnant with her 13th child she started to curse the devil and ranted that she hoped the child itself would be a devil. She continued this all through the time she carried the child and when it was time for its birth what was born was not exactly a human child but the child of the devil which she had of coursed asked for. It looked somewhat normal but was very thin and yet quite long and heavy. A strong storm began to arise on that night and the winds howled a very eerie tune, as they did the deformed baby began to grow before the members of the house and a few companions that were on hand that night. The baby began to take the form of a serpent like creature but his oddly long legs began to form hooven feet and his head began to resemble that of a horse. Over the hours that passed the strong storm raged on outside while inside this child of the devil took form. The family and company huddled together and watched being to scared to do much more. Then as a crash of thunder sounded the creature sprouted wings like that of a bat and began to scream as he began to fly around the small house throwing things, then with a scream that had never been heard before he flew straight into the lit fireplace and out the chimney. So was the birthday of the Jersey Devil. Some say that was the last the Leeds had ever seen of their child but others say it continued to haunt the family for many years. The devil, it is said resides now, even in this day somewhere in the Pine Barrens. It is said that since it is a child of the devil it will live on and if you happen to be in the Pines on a stormy night you may just hear it screaming out.
