| Last updated February 2, 2004 Wow, how about that Superbowl XXXVIII halftime show!? I saw it and I've been hearing about it all day. All I have to say is this, "Please, people, can we just relax? It was a breast. It was only a breast." Going sledding this year? My daughter and I went sledding before the 'bowl with my fiance at his Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a great time and his Grandma had a neat solution to the wet gear problem, i.e., where do you put the soaking wet hats, mittens, scarves, etc? She gave us a big cooler to put our wet things in for the ride home. It's such a simple idea but I hadn't thought of it, nor had I ever seen anyone else using thier cooler to transport their wet clothes. It's genius! It's today's free 'tip of the day!' Thanks Rita! |

| I love to bake, especially when it's cold outside. I often find myself a victim of "empty cupboard syndrome." You know, when you feel like baking but your list of ingredients is pretty darn short? Yeah, you know. I've spent some time figuring out ways to make something good out of nothing much. I call it my Empty Cupboard Cookbook. Here's a sample: Easy Cereal Bars 1/2 c. butter or margarine 1 c. brown sugar, packed 1 tsp. salt 2 c. rolled oats 1 tsp. baking powder Melt butter or margarine and mix with brown sugar and salt. Mix in oats and baking powder. Press into a greased 13x9 cake pan and bake at 400 until lightly browned. Watch carefully! Allow to cool about 1 minute, then cut into squares or bars while still hot. These are really good, and so easy! |
