Dog Assisted Therapy
Dogs are non-judgemental and giving beings who have a unique enthusiasm for life.  They have an uncanny way of making us smile and feel better.  Our registered therapy dogs regularly visit nursing homes, assisted living facilities, a local hospital and school, inviting all they meet to pet them, forget their troubles and feel loved for a little while.  Our therapy work allows us to share our dogs with others in a manner which enriches the lives of all involved.

In order to properly prepare your dog for therapy visits, you will need to successfully complete the
American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen Test and the Therapy Dogs Incorporated Test which will allow you to have your dog registered on the Therapy Dogs Incorporated national registry.  Both of these tests will document that your dog has basic obedience skills, an appropriate level of responsiveness to you and would behave politely and calmly in a variety of situations.  If this sounds like something you would like to add to your spare time activities, we would be glad to help you work toward completion of these tests.
