Cleveland SVU
The Cleveland Chapter of SVU was established in 1969 by Ing. Bastl, and it rapidly became very active chapter. The major accomplishments were the hosting of the National SVU Congress in 1978, and this Chapter's involvement in organizing a formal annual event, which occures to this day and is known as the Czech and Slovak Cotillion Ball.

In 2003, after a brief repose in the Chapter's activities, a new team re-energized the Chapter. The current officers are:

UPCOMING 2008 EVENTS:

The Chapter traditionally holds a wreath laying ceremony at the statue of Masaryk in the Czech Cultural Garden located at 880 East Blvd. This will be done on Sunday, October 26, 12;00 noon. This year the Chapter will  also assist SOKOL Greater Cleveland with arranging a performance by the Women's Orchestra of musical compositions by Czech composers, including Dvorak and Smetana. This will be held at the Bohemian National Hall, 4939 Broadway, on October 26 at 3:30PM. Dinner to be served at 1:00PM.These events will commemorate 90th anniversary of foundation of Czechoslovakia.
