Cleveland Archery Club Update
News for REAL Archers Vol. 7, No. 1/May, 2003
About CAC
The Cleveland Archery Club (CAC), organized in 1928, is a nonprofit organization for the promotion of archery in all its phases. We are affiliated with the Cleveland Metroparks and are a member club of the National Archery Association (NAA).
During the summer months, the Club provides a target range in the Cleveland Metroparks at Albion Woods in the Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville. The range is set up with Club funds by Club members. Target shoots are held here as well as public access when Club events are not scheduled.
Membership is open to all who wish to use the range or support archery in Cleveland. Membership fees (dues) are used to defray the costs of setting up the range (hay bales, bale stands, etc.). Separate tournament fees are collected to cover the cost of those events (target faces, scorecards, etc.).
If you have any questions about CAC or what we have planned for this year, contact Kim Birch at
[email protected].

Range Set Up
The range has already been set up this year. Special thanks to Steve Andresh, Matt Birch & Tom DeBerry.

Dues
Dues for this year are $15 (new or renewal) and can be paid to Kim Birch at set up, leagues, a Sunday shoot or by mail.

M600 League Details
The M600 league will begin on Thursday, May 15 and run trough Thursday, August 29. There will be no league on July 31 (NAA Outdoor Nationals).
Scoring will begin at 6:30 p.m.. There will be no practice ends ar 6:30, but you can get there as early as you like to practice. Please take into account that we'll need to close the field at about 6:20 to put up target faces. If you don't make it on time, you can make up the missed ends at the end of the evening.
Visitors are welcome to come and shoot along or spectate.
Fees for this league are $3 per week for CAC members; $5 for visitors. After May 31,you will be charged the visitor rate until your dues are paid.
Sunday Shoots

Here is the summer shoot schedule. They will all be registered with the NAA (just registered, not as Stars), but we will not run a clock or enforce the dress code.
All Sunday shoots will begin with 2 practice ends at 10:30 a.m..
On the schedule, you'll also find some regional & national events listed for reference. We do have some open space on the schedule so if we want to add another shoot or two it is possible. We'll discuss it at the first Sunday event.

The Website
The website is still up and last year was updated more than previously. Hopefully, this year I'll be able to do even better! Check it out and set your bookmarks! The URL is:

Crooked River Archers
Cleveland's own JOAD club is having a super year so far! If you know of any kids that are interested in learning or shooting archery, this is the bunch for them. It is the only JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) program in the Cleveland ara. All youths age 18 & under are welcome. Kids are split into divisions by sex, age groupings and bow type (recurve or compound).
     Contact Mike Stiber at
[email protected] if you have any questions about the kids club.
