...who'd have thought? I mean, I'm the gal that makes fun of all the people posting stupid comments on the GateWorld blogs! Oh, well, a girl's gotta start somewhere, right? Anywho, a little about why I started this thing... Monday, Feb. 13th, 2006 At any rate, the rest of the evening was shaping up to go just as poorly, since I was scheduled to work at my part-time job at the local Bed Bath & Beyond (at which I had recently given my two weeks' notice). I wasn't in the best of moods on my way in, but when I stopped at the intersection just a little before the shopping center, two little girls in the dust-covered mini-van in front of me turned around in their seats and waved at me! It was the cutest thing, and I couldn't help but smile as I waved back to them. Just goes to show what a simple gesture can do to brighten up a person's day, doesn't it? Tuesday, Feb. 14th, 2006 I typed the first paragraph, deciding to start off with Cameron Mitchell reacting to an "off-screen" anecdote shared by one Major General Jack O'Neill. That got me thinking about exactly what kind of little tidbit Jack was sharing with Cam, especially since I'd already published "The Memo" (which, incidentally, takes place after "Deus Ex Machina", but was 'forwarded' after "Prototype") whereupon he gives his blessings to Mitchell as the new SG-1 "band" leader. Furthermore, given the way Jack and Cam were unmercifully teasing Daniel in the last chapter I'd published, a little more of the same would be fair, right? Thus a new story was born. It's got all kinds of fun in it, taking place on Valentine's Day and involving a serious case of mistaken identity for the whole team. Oh, yes, I will let you know when it's published. Wednesday, Feb. 15th, 2006 I also decided to check my email while I was at it, discovering a new message sent using the email forms at Alexandria. Whoohoo! Even better, the wonderful reader had so many nice things to say about my Daniel 'n' Vala stories, I was inspired to immediately write back to her! ...Which got me thinking about maybe starting my own blog. The least I could do was let all of my readers know how much I appreciate them, plus keep them apprised of the latest happenings (i.e. why Cleo hasn't posted her next chapter yet) and updates. Ta dah! Here we are! |
