All of us are where we are tonight because of decisions we've made in the past. Every single one of us. Some of those decisions have been good, brought us lots of blessing. Some of those decisions haven't been so good and brought us lots of barrenness.

There are all kinds of decisions in life and I suppose all of us would be a little shocked if we could look back and see the times that we have been right on the brink of blessing when we made the wrong choice in life.

1. Every decision we make should be brought to God
   

1. God wants to bless us, but we often walk away by making the wrong decision

2. God's way is always the best way

3. If we're going to choose God's best, we have to learn how to listen to him
   

1. Get in the Word
2. Don't do all the talking -- Stop and listen as he speaks to your heart
3. Expect him to speak to you
4. Record what he says to you

4. God challenges us, and if we're obedient, a blessing usually follows
   

1. We often look at what God is offering and wonder what it's going to cost us
2. No matter what the cost, it's always worth being obedient to God
3. Sometimes we miss God's blessing because we're afraid of personal failure or we doubt God
4. It is impossible to be obedient to God without being blessed!

5. Fix your eyes on God and not the obstacles because God is always in absolute control
6. Our four main enemies to being obedient to God
   

1. Sight
2. Hearing
3. Feeling
4. Reason

7. You must refuse to listen to ungodly counsel
8. We must be sensitive to the attractive and appealing detours that Satan sends our way
