More Ice Storm Pictures
(Clever title, I know...)
More
Above is a picture of the power lines in our backyard. You can't really tell, but one of them snapped, and the others are very weighted down. We were lucky and never lost our phone lines, and our electricity was only off for 3 days.

Above right is a picture of the ice on a branch--that was after one day of melting, so you can imagine what it was like before that.

Right is the silver maple in our front yard, you can see that its branches are drooping terribly under the weight of the ice, and that several branches broke off.
This is a picture of Independence Street I took from a car. On many of the streets power lines were just lying there and you had to drive over them. Other streets were roped off by yellow police tape either because of fallen limbs or dangerous conditions. You can see how bent all the branches are. Most of what you may think are shrubs are actually broken tree limbs in front yards. The pictures really don't do it justice.
