I used to have a lot of quilts on these pages, but due to space constraints, I've taken down most of them, leaving only the two cat quilts (of course!) since that's the focus of my site.

Amish Cats and Rats - One of my favorites and my first cat quilt, this was great fun to do. The appliqu was a tad tricky for all the mice and for the very-hard-to-see yarn coming out of the basket at the bottom left corner. Though you can't see it, I stitched the top of the quilt inside the square to look like you are looking into a room, with the corners of the room being where the mouseholes are and the walls expanding outwards to your view. Clear as mud, huh?! I did all the stitch lines in gold metallic thread. It's one of my self-proclaimed masterpieces. |

Reflecting Cats - This was an adventurous undertaking. I'd found this pattern in a book and thought I'd be really clever at making it look like the cats were reflected in water. I don't think I quite succeeded, but its a good try. And its upside down in this picture - the yellow background is supposed to be "sunlight", the blue is supposed to be "water". Well, I guess you'll have to use your imagination. I did have fun doing the fish on the border. They're stitched to appear bony. Done in late '86. |
