Privateers form a vast majority of the contestants for SMSA events. They are mostly people who have another job, but look on motorsport as a hobby. However some of them spend vast sums to modify their cars, and their efforts have paid off by the looks of the results sheet. One notable example is local privateer ace Au Sen Min's car, which was fitted with the same anti-lag system as the Prodrive Subaru's, a Motech system. It makes for impressive ear fodder, with its gunshot-sounding exhaust!
