Havoline Racing Team

Click any of these images for a closer look at these cars

Havoline Racing is a relatively new team that was set up this year. It comprises of three motorsport veterans of which two are locals and one is Australian. These are: Bill Ng, Ian Lee, and Jeff Beaumont. For this season, they have dropped their privateer status and are running two Subaru WRXs and a Mitsubishi Evolution IV painted in team colours. The reason for the differing cars are that these cars are the drivers' own, and not provided by Havoline Racing.

This is the car belonging to one of the most experienced contestants in SMSA - Bill Ng. His Subaru WRX is currently being modified by Possum Bourne Motorsports to include a roll cage and uprated components. His car was already very competitive then, but it could be awesome now!

Now we have Ian Lee. He is a driver who previously raced under the banner of George Lee Racing, and yes, George Lee is his grandfather. George Lee used to race cars in Singapore back in the times when Singapore had a race track. His WRX has been fully reworked by Possum Bourne Motorsports to Group A standards, and that's what Bill Ng's car will eventually be similar to. It features an all-red interior, roll cage, as well as a host of performance enhancing stuff I do not know of, but which I know makes this car a cut above the rest of the relatively stock Subarus.

This is the first Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV to be raced in Singapore. Modified by Mitsubishi Ralliart Japan, it is a full race spec rally car. The driver, Jeff Beaumont, from Australia, plans to enter the car in regional rallies, including the World Rally Championship rounds of Indonesia and Australia. His car is Australian-registered, but is in Singapore for a large part of the year. That's because Jeff is working in Singapore. He used to race an Evolution II, but switched to the IV when it was released. With the Evolution II, he competed, and finished well in Group N of Rally Australia.
