Monster Motorsports Group A Yokomo YR4SP

What you see here is Monster Motorsports' second chassis as prepared for competition. It started out as a stock YR4SP, but was gradually improved to the standard that you see here. Most of the modifications are not readily visible to the naked eye. The net result is that the car is much more durable, drag-free, and smoother than it was ever before.

Basically, the chassis was re-engineered, weight balance redistributed, and rotating components made as smooth as possible. Although nothing major (and hence highly visible) modifications were done, there is an appreciable and significant difference before and after the car was prepared. For example, it is now running quieter, battery life is also longer, and so far, nothing has broken at all. However, it has not significantly "lost weight" despite these modifications, and the full complement of graphite components. Currently, the car weighs in at approximately 1510 grams, or 3lbs 4 ounces. That is not far off from the stock YR-4 chassis, and is actually heavier than the newer generations of YR-4Ms, YR-4IIs, and the like. Incidentally, 1510 grams, scaled up to full size, is similar to a real Nissan Skyline's weight.
