Hayden froze in his tracks. He had only been in town a few hours, he definitely didn�t want to confront Kristen, especially when she was with who appeared to be her boyfriend.

�You�re right�.let�s go,� Hayden said, walking back toward the car.

Hayden and Kaylen sat in the car for several minutes.

Hayden was staring at the steering wheel, lost in his thoughts.

�I�m sorry�.I didn�t know she would be here,� Kaylen said.

�I know, how could you know that?� Hayden replied. �Wanna hit the coffee place on Bathurst?� he asked, changing the subject.

�Sure,� Kaylen answered.

They drove the short distance to Bathurst St.

They went into the coffee shop, ordered their drinks and sat down at a table.

Hayden sat quietly.

�Do you wanna talk?� Kaylen spoke up.

��about?� Hayden asked.

Kaylen rolled her eyes. �..you know.�

�No, I really don�t but thanks,� Hayden said.

Kaylen sat back, drinking her mocha. �Well�.I am sorting of dating someone now.�

Hayden looked up, �oh yeah??�

�Yeah, his name is Jon. We�re in Biology together. He�s hot.�

Hayden smirked, �so how long have you been seeing him? Do I need to kick him around a little?�

Kaylen smiled, �nah, he�s a good guy. I want you to meet him sometime. He has a hot older sister.�

Hayden laughed, �oh yeah? Are you gonna try to set me up?�

��only if you want to be set up�I�m done playing matchmaker,� Kaylen said.

�Ah�well, you never know I guess�� Hayden trailed off.

Two days later --

�Stacy, this is my brother Hayden,� Kaylen introduced them.

�Hi Hayden,� Stacy said, smiling.

Hayden grinned back, �Hi Stacy.�

Kaylen had wanted Jon to meet Hayden � so she had arranged for Jon to meet them at the Christensen home. It just so happened that he brought his older sister Stacy over as well.

�You giving up matchmaking huh?� Hayden joked as he and Kaylen walked into the kitchen, leaving Jon and Stacy in the living room.

�I swear, I didn�t realize she was coming over until Jon had called me. Apparently, she had wanted to meet you.�

�Ah, so you didn�t have anything to do with this?� Hayden smiled.

�No, honestly I didn�t. Hey, we�ll just hang out and it will be no big deal. If you guys hit it off, great. If you don�t, no harm, no foul,� Kaylen rationalized.

Hayden nodded, �well she is cute.�

The four had a good time just hanging out and talking. Hayden and Stacy were engrossed in a conversation about Los Angeles when she happened to look at her watch.

�Oh, I hate to run but I have to be getting back to the house. My sorority is having a party tonight,� she said.

Hayden nodded, �ahh, okay. Well it was really nice meeting you.�

Stacy stood up, �likewise�..hey, would you wanna stop by the party later? I mean, if you�re not doing anything else.�

Kaylen looked from Stacy to Hayden, observing the situation.

�Uh�yeah, maybe,� Hayden replied.

Kaylen and Hayden walked Stacy and Jon to the car.

�So what do you think of Jon?" Kaylen asked.

"He seems like a good guy, so he's safe...for now," Hayden smiled.

Kaylen smiled. "....and she�s nice too isn�t she?� Kaylen asked as they walked up the driveway as Jon's car pulled away.

�Yeah she is�� Hayden replied.

�So, are you going to that party?� Kaylen asked.

�Ahhh, I don�t know�sororities�those kinds of parties aren�t really my thing,� Hayden answered.

Kaylen stifled a laugh, �since when is a party with alcohol and attractive women not your thing?�

Hayden smiled and rolled his eyes, �well�.�

�You should go�meet some people�mingle,� Kaylen said.

�I don�t know�maybe�what are you up to tonight?� Hayden asked.

�I promised Julia I would come over and help her pack for her cruise. She�s leaving tomorrow.�

�Well have fun with that,� Hayden said.

Hayden grabbed his cell and dialed Tove�s number.

�Hey man, what are you up to tonight?? There�s a party on campus I think we should check out.�
