Oh you don't mean nothing at all to me
No you don't mean nothing at all to me
But you got what it takes to set me free
Oh you could mean everything to me

The morning was dragging at a snail's pace. I stayed by Greg's side through every take, grabbing different things he requested from coffee to Sharpie markers.
The morning's scenes were between Josh and Hayden.
Hayden's companion, according to Mandy her name was Katherine, sat in his chair near the edge of the set, absent-mindedly twirling her hair in her fingers and reading a magazine.
One would only need glance at her to see she had no interest in what was going on around her. She only glanced up when she heard the light laughter between Hayden and the make-up artist who was touching up under the lighting.
I sat there in Greg's chair, as he was nearby with the director Joby, watching dailies of the previous take.
Hayden and Josh stood on set at their marks and took direction from Joby - and continued on again.
After they had checked the gate and were setting up another camera shot, I noticed Katherine stand up as Hayden walked over.
She was motioning and talking to him about something and I could see him nodding.
Hayden walked over to one of the P.A.s on set. I could hear him ask, "can we get a car out front to take Katherine back to the townhouse?"
I rolled my eyes -- this girl was getting the star treatment and all.
Then, I realized how ridiculous it was for me to even care -- who was I to say whether this girl should get special treatment? After all, she was here with Hayden and if that's what he wanted.....
The girl gave him a quick kiss and headed out the door with her huge purse and her magazine, putting her oversized sunglasses on before she'd even left the building.
Josh sat down in the chair beside me with a bottle of water.
"How goes it this fine day?" he asked with a light smile.
I smirked, "not bad -- I've actually done a whole lot of nothing today....I thought Greg would need me for something particular on set....not that I'm complaining though -- any day I can get away from the office is great!"
"Oh yeah, Sharon gettin' to ya?" Josh asked, taking a sip from his bottle and grinning.
I looked at him, "Yeah -- just a little...."
He laughed at my clear sarcasm.
Then he turned his attention to Hayden, "So, what do you think of Hayden's girl?"
I merely shrugged, trying to act indifferent. "I didn't know he had a girl...."
Josh nodded slowly, almost as if trying to read my reaction, "Yeah-- he had Katherine fly out for the long weekend....she wanted to come early and see him shooting but you can see how long that lasted. She got bored and left already...."
I nodded again, not sure what to say.
At that moment, Hayden approached me for the first time....but to my dismay, his attention was focused on asking Josh about what was going on after wrap.
"I don't know -- I figured you would want some alone time with Katherine," Josh grinned in evil delight that he had both Hayden and myself squirming.
Hayden avoided meeting my eyes as he shyly nodded and shrugged. "I don't know -- I mean, we have the whole weekend....and I want her to get to know everybody."
Josh nodded silently, taking another drink from his bottled water.
Hayden looked at me for the first time, "why don't you come too? Bring Aaron."
I narrowed my eyes -- his tone turned downright biting when he mentioned bringing Aaron.
I realized all of this was too ridiculous and unimaginable. Why would I be jealous of this guy's love life - we hardly knew each other....It was a ridiculous unspoken game and it had to stop.
"Yeah, thanks anyway, but I don't think so," I replied cooly.
Josh looked from Hayden to me, an expression of utter surprise on his face. He clearly hadn't expected such cool interaction between us -- and frankly, neither had I.
"I'm -- going to grab a bagel, I'm starving!" Josh said, dramatically rising from the chair to walk over to craft service.
I thought Hayden was going to follow him and was very surprised when he didn't make a move from where he stood.
"What was that about?" I asked him boldly.
"What?" he asked, feigning ignorance.
"I'm sorry if you didn't like my boyfriend -- but for you to act that way in front of Josh...." I trailed off.
"I never said that I didn't like your boyfriend," Hayden said suddenly. "I merely said to bring him out with everyone."
I nodded, "well maybe I will bring him out then -- " after a second, I sat silently, giving in -- it was no use to create an argument over a split second reaction or expression. What would be the point?
"So, the girl with you before, that's your girlfriend?" I asked him.
"Yeah - well, sort of," Hayden said, looking at the ground.
"Is this the same girl who sold you out to the media?" I asked, knowing I was surely crossing some line and not much caring.
Hayden's eye snapped to mine. "She made a mistake-- but people can change."
I looked at him in confusion, "Do you really think she's changed?"
"I don't know - alright?" Hayden said getting exasperated. "...but I'm willing to give her a chance..."
I just looked at him - I couldn't help but be disappointed. He'd seemed stronger than that. "I just don't understand -- why would you go back to someone like that? You could have anyone you want."
He laughed wryly, "Oh yeah? Is that what you think?....that I could have anyone huh?" he asked, leaning down, putting his hands on the arm-rests on both sides of my chair and looking at me.
I looked right in his eyes and knew what he was saying -- he was saying what I'd been both dreading and longing to hear.
We sat there for a second, staring into each other's eyes.
"Alright, back to work!" Adam, Joby's assistant called from his place behind the monitor.
Crew members dispersed from various areas around set to congregated back on the stage.
Hayden looked at me again, this time with a knowing smirk.
He turned and walked back to his mark and began talking with Josh.
I kept my eyes fixed on the pages in my lap, feeling my cheeks burning. I was angry and very, very intrigued.
