Hayden and I didn't speak on Sunday -- I figured there were some inevitable issues between him and Katherine, so I decided to keep my distance until work on Monday. Besides, I still had a lot of internal confusion going on.

Through the course of one evening, I had lost every plan I had been hoping for over the past four years -- seeing Aaron with another woman and just reliving the betrayal, it was like a knife slashing through my stomach at each thought.

I knew I was definitely drawn to Hayden but my more rational side knew that I couldn't just rely on that.

"I don't know why the hell not!" Mandy had exclaimed when I discussed the situation with her on Sunday evening. "I don't know why you don't just let nature take its course!"

I rolled my eyes, "....because -- I'm not a 'fling' person....I'm just not...and to have ended one relationship that's already left me really vulnerable...it wouldn't be smart....think about it -- its nearly the middle of March - he's going to be leaving in a few weeks anyway..."

Mandy rolled her eyes, "you think too damn much girl....you are the only girl on the planet who's trying to rationalize herself out of a romantic entanglement with Hayden Christensen! Are you crazy?!"

I shook my head. I know it sounded ridiculous....yes, he was Hayden Christensen....but I'd come to know him as an actual person, not a celebrity. Perhaps, that's why he and I had grown so close -- I felt that he really trusted me and knew I didn't have the ulterior motives that so many other females had, namely Katherine.

~~~~~
Monday morning, I was called to set at 8:30AM to assist Greg. I was running all over the place, getting bagels from craft service for Greg, running to the prop department for extra set pieces, etc. A very productive morning -- very busy.
I had only seen Hayden once -- as he was coming out of wardrobe. He'd had a later call time and hadn't gotten there until around 10:30am.
He'd walked out of the wardrobe area and grabbed my arm.
I turned toward him awkwardly, "Hey."
"Hey," he said softly, a smile forming across his lips.
We stood there for a second in the hallway, no one was around but we still couldn't seem to find words.
"Did you have a good weekend?" he asked after a second.
"It wasn't too bad -- how about you?"
"Yeah - I got some things resolved and over with," he said meaningfully.
At that moment, a PA whisked through the hallway, practically pulling Hayden with him, "you're needed on set, stat!"
Hayden looked back at me, "We'll talk later!"
I only nodded. I didn't know what to think. I'd trusted that he would end things with her....but I still didn't know what it may mean for the two of us -- because he was still going to be leaving.
It wasn't until lunch that I got to talk with him again. Mandy had had to stay on set so I was eating alone until Hayden pulled up a chair.
We talked briefly about the morning's shoot.
After a moment, Hayden asked, "we only have a couple more scenes today so we should be wrapped by 6:30."
I nodded, "yeah, it should be an early night."
"Do you have any plans?" Hayden asked softly.
I shrugged, "not really....just buggin' Mandy I suppose..."
Hayden smiled, "...well in that case, I'd like to take you on a date."
I looked up into Hayden's eyes, "a date?"
"Yes, 'the old fashioned, I pick you up at your house, or Mandy's in this case and take you to a nice dinner' date," Hayden smiled.
I couldn't help but smile. Just like that, the worries and second thoughts I may have had just fell away. "A date....that sounds really nice."
"Excellent!" Hayden grinned. "Well, we can talk about details after wrap...."
I nodded and smiled as one of the Production Assistants came in and announced that Joby was requesting Hayden and Josh back on set.
"Where is Josh?" Hayden asked.
"Probably in his trailer with Diane!" one of the key grips cracked.
Hayden laughed and turned his attention back to me again with a smile, "well, I'll see you later then."
I smiled back, "sounds good."
