I have located new information on our Delk line.  David John Delk was one of six children.  His father was David Delk, and his mother was Sarah Elizabeth Hinstion.  He had four sisters, and one brother.  His sisters were Edie Jane, Amanda "Mandy", Pennie Lee, and Georgia Zenora.  His brother was Zebedee B. Delk.  I now have all of the information on Zebedee's family all the way down to his great grandchildren thanks to his daughter and his granddaughter, Maxine Delk White, and Diane White Crymes.  Diane discovered my web page on the net and sent me an email about her family.

Edie Jane Delk married Worthy Martin, Amanda "Mandy" Delk married John Gay Jr., Pennie Lee Delk married W. M. Passmore, and Georgia Zenora Delk married Henry Plair.  I am trying to get the information on their families with the help of Maxine and Diane.  If you have any information on any of these Delk lines please e-mail me.

My Delk line is my grandfather's Floyd Lee Delk's line.  The Delk line was started with David John Delk and Martha Ella Nichols in Moultrie, Colquitt County, Georgia.  They had four boy's and one girl all born in Georgia.

These children, as adult's, ventured into Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida in the late 1920's or early 1930's.  Floyd, the oldest Delk child, married Bronnie Cordelia Robinson,  a native of Georgia, in Clearwater, Florida.  After the birth of their first child, LeRoy Chesley Delk, they moved to Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida.  And after the birth of their second child Marjorie Ella Delk, they moved to Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida where their third child, Charles Lee Delk, was born.  Floyd raised his family in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida, while his siblings raised their families in Lakeland, Polk County, Florida.

LeRoy Chesley Delk, Floyd and Bronnie's first born and my father, married Shirley Margaret Clemons in Valdosta, Lowndes County, Georgia.  LeRoy was stationed in Savanna, Chatham County, Georgia, when his first child was born.  After LeRoy's military term in the service, they settled in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida.  Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida is were their three other children were born and raised.

Another major family line within the Delk line is the Hand line.
