Good God.... It seems that Jonny Fly still feels he has a point to make in the wrestling business. That point? Nobody really knows. Fly is hell bent on revenge, that's for sure, but for what really? To avenge what his "friends" did to him over a year ago, he has to fade back into the man that was teetering on the edge so much, he drove his "friends" to such drastic actions. And all of this begs and even bigger question. "Will Jonny Fly ever just be able to..wrestle?" "On the Brink" [Narrator Begins] Some would argue that if you were to sit down and create the perfect wrestler, he would be an exact replica of Jonny Fly. Fly is a chiseled 6-5, 250 pound freak of an athlete, with more than enough strength to throw down the biggest of men that have ever stepped onto the canvas. His ability to wrestle in the air, on the mat, or through submissions and holds makes him impossible to predict. Fly is as tough as they come, and his finisher has almost always sealed the deal. Such is the makings of the first man inducted into the TNT Hall of Fame. However, as much as Fly has accomplished, he still leaves us questioning what could of been. Fly's career is full of gaps. For the last 5 years he has wrestled for only short stretches of time. This is mainly due to the fact that he was always neck deep into shit and forced to fade away from the public eye. Just think about it for a second, Fly has only wrestled in 62 professional matches in a shade under 5 years. That's 12 matches a year, on average, and for the majority of his career UWA and TNT were putting out 4 shows a month! Do the math there, it isn't pretty. Now, granted, a good year of that missed time could be chalked up to Fly leaving the roster to run the company, but the point still remains. This time it was supposed to be different... When TnT wrestling was reintroduced to Jonny Fly, it was as a humble man, who was just simply happy to be back in a wrestling ring. Fly was a man coming back from a year long rehab, and 3 straight embarrassments from rookie wrestlers. It was also revealed shortly before his latest exit that matches had been "fixed" due to a deal he made when he was a sixteen year old living on the New York streets. Fly just wanted a chance to prove people wrong... ..and he did it. Slowly the ball started rolling and Fly again felt he had become bulletproof. The true Jonny Fly began to come back into play, and a couple of huge wins against a bitter rival later, Fly has completely morphed back into the egomaniac that paved his exit from TnT last time. Humble and Fly never did mix, it's just not in his nature. This is a man who has clawed for everything he has had in his life. If he thinks he's going to win, he's going to say it. If he thinks you need to be set straight, he's just going to do it. If he thinks that you need to be given the ultimate punishment, he's going to deliver it. That's Jonny Fly. This quote should tell you everything.. "We all know Jonny Fly is uncontrollable. The only person who's ever been able to get through to him is Kent." You remember that nickname, "The Kid Wonder." It is very much the truth, Fly is but a kid. About to turn 23 in November, Fly hasn't had a chance to mature since he was 12. He grew up in an environment that taught one thing; defending yourself. Now fast forward that mindset 11 years, put him in another volatile environment like the wrestling world, an give him fame and fortune. Does anyone really expect a fuckin' choir student? The above quote is true in it's entirety. Through living on the streets you grow an all-for-one mindset. Who gives a fuck about anyone else, you have to live! It's all about you. That's why Fly cannot be controlled. However, Kent got through to Jonny. Kent went to bat for Jonny through numerous incidents, he elevated his wrestling career, and mainly was a trustworthy friend. Kent got through the wall, but only him. When Kent turned on Fly, not only did it leave Fly without anyone to check him on the things he gets into, it left a deep scar on Fly's mind. Fly is now a loner in the world. A loner whose immature, has the power and means to do most anything he pleases, the street smarts to get out of any of those things, and an ego that needs constant petting. And all we really want is him to just...wrestle. Time is running short. You can tell. Fly is at a crossroads, and if he takes the route he's taken in the past, an ending more tragic than the one Strong and Mills failed to deliver is in order. Jonny Fly is toeing the edge again. [Narrator Ends] [Scene Begins] The scene fades in, in a smallish, empty arena at the YMCA in Chicago, Illinois. There are a few workers mulling around preparing for TNT's coming show, Beginning of the End. We spot Jonny Fly sitting alone to the left of the ring that has been set up. From behind him one of the workers approaches. The man sits down next to Fly as we zoom in to catch the scene.. Worker: You know, it's a funny thing, I've always been a huge wrestling fan. The big company was UWA, and TNT was always second, cast in their big shadow, just a sprout off the bigger company. When you moved from UWA to TNT, that shadow nearly vanished. Fly, who has been staring at the ground the entire time, looks up at the man talking to him. Jonny Fly: Why is that funny? UWA was the majors, TNT was the minors, and you made the switch. I mean, what if TNT had failed? You burned your bridge in UWA, you'd of been done in this business! I don't know what it was about that, but I wanted to be apart of this TNT thing. I had dreams of becoming an on-air personality, and all sorts of things. But here I am. Setting up for a show in the YMCA. I don't mean to be rude, but what is the purpose of this? People look up to you, you know? Ya, I do.... The worker interrupts Fly, startling him a bit. No you don't. You could wave your hand a certain way, and kids across the country would begin to mimic it. You could wear a certain piece of clothing, and within weeks they'd be selling it at Wall-Mart. I set up shows because I look up to you guys. My dreams are all but dry in my mind, but watching someone like you makes it worth it every time. Your stamp on this place goes far past what you've done in the ring. We need you here.. Well I'm here, if you didn't notice. Is that right? I woke up today to my boss calling me in for a meeting. He tells me that we have to set up for extra security. It seems they're worried about some "war" with you and Nicky Mills. That's bullshit. I'm not at "war" with Nicky Mills. Mills and his problems are hardly worth my time. Mills just simply needs to be set back in line. Nicky Mills has taken two major steps in his career, both have been under my wing, one in UWA when he went from a dark match wrestler, to a mid-carder, and then last year in TNT when we went from that mid-carder, to a legitimate Main Eventer. Mills copies everything I do! I made a movie when I was a rookie, and two months later Mills was a "Hollywood Icon" or some bullshit. He seen me get involved in some problems, and must of thought it was cool, and now look at him! Every time he has hit a roadblock in his career, he's come running to me to make it all better. I've let him into The Dynasty on two separate occasions, and both times he's gotten jealous that I was the star of the group and turned on me, or the whole group. At war with Mills? No, sir, it's just Nicky trying to stir shit up to make it look like I give a fuck about his existence. Mills is a fitting opponent for a Jason Sparks, but I need someone like Havens, that'll actually push me. Ok then, explain Kent and the Hitmen dead. Here's a good explanation..someone fucking killed them! Can I say something, that I'm sure will cross the line with you? Fly looks on kinda dumbfounded, as if to say, who is this guy? Why is he talking to me? Fly decides to let him continue.. Go ahead. I respect the hell out of you, anyone that truly cares about TNT respects the hell out of you. Only a select few people around these days know exactly what you've done for this place. With that said, I know the flip side of you. I've seen it, albeit from a distance. I think you killed Kent and those Hitmen members, I really do. Well I didn't kill them, but go on.. Wrestling is not fighting for your life. This isn't the streets. You have accomplishments that nobody will ever be able to take away from you. Nic has given you one last chance, and your going to blow it. The baggage you bring isn't wanted, TNT is small now, were just looking to stick around, and in this case bad publicity, isn't good publicity. Are you trying to tell me I'm not wanted, here? Is that what you and your little friends talk about, like ya'll make decisions around here or something? No! You don't get it. I'm telling you this because I DO want you here. Come on, Jonny! What more fitting of a person would there be to lead TNT back to the top than you! The man that first took them there! This is going to be your last chance in this business, Hay said it himself to you, and your just not seeing the light. If you want to live that type of life, if your the one that wants to copy Nicky, then you go ahead and do it. But wrestling will pass you by. You told Havens that TNT was your one love, but your gonna piss it away. The worker stands up from his seat. One of my biggest fears is coming to a crossroads in my life, and making a bad decision that changes everything from there on out. That's where your at. Your sitting there, thinking about tomorrow, thinking about Mills, and no doubt wondering the best way to get back at him. And if you go about it like that, mark my words, it'll change the rest of your life. The worker looks down at Fly, shakes his head, and then begins to walk off to continue his work. Fly yells back at him.. How do you know? The worker doesn't break stride.. Hey, how do you know! The worker leaves the scene, leaving Fly sitting there alone. Fly hangs his head back down and mutters the words.. "Maybe he's right.." [Scene Ends]
